Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Hutchison.
Hi Sierra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to capturing moments. Even as a kid, I loved pulling out a camera or phone, framing things in a way that felt beautiful, and paying attention to the little details of design, aesthetic and composition. Fast forward to planning my own wedding and in November 2024 that passion found a new place to live, Moments to Hold. What started as a small, passion project, side hustle, documenting the little in betweens and behind the scenes of love stories, suddenly clicked into something bigger than I ever expected.
I didn’t imagine it would turn into a business, let alone grow into a team of storytellers and wedding lovers! But here we are, and I’m so grateful it did. Moments to Hold has become a piece of my story that feels both unexpected and exactly where I’m meant to be!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s felt like a really smooth road, mostly because my passion has connected me with the right people at the right times. I’ve been so lucky to have the support of such amazing wedding vendors who believe in me and what I’m doing. The challenges have come more on the business side. Things like taxes and payroll, all the behind the scenes pieces I’m still learning as I go!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Moments to Hold is a wedding content creation business and is about capturing a wedding day as it really happens through the lens of an iPhone. We’re based in Charlotte and Charleston, and we also travel for destination weddings, documenting moments couples want to remember forever. The entire day is captured and the best part is that they get to relive it all almost instantly, it’s not weeks later, it’s the very next day.
Sometimes the term “content creator” gets a little lost. People think it’s just for influencers or social media, but what we do is so much more than that. We’re there to capture the whole story of the day, not just the polished cinematic moments, but the raw, unfiltered pieces that couples can go back to whenever they want. We’re storytellers, almost like archeologists, pulling together all the little fragments, the tears, the laughter, the chaos, the quiet, to give couples the truest picture of what their day really felt like. We are not just filming, it’s storytelling. It’s real, emotional and true to each couple.
I’m proud that Moments to Hold has been able to step into this newer role in the wedding world and help it be recognized as something brides are now seeking out. At its core, it’s about honoring the magic and love stories in their rawest, truest form, and that’s what I hope is the take away when you think of Moments to Hold.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can work with us by knowing we’re always there as part of the team. We strive to flow seamlessly with the media team, photographers, videographers, planners; standing side by side, never in the way and always respecting each other’s space. At the end of the day, we’re all working toward the same goal: serving the couple and telling their story in the best way possible.
When a couple hires us, that’s usually a one time relationship. But with other vendors, we’re more like coworkers, we may cross paths at many weddings or they may be the ones referring us in the future. That’s why we always strive to work as a team!
