Community Highlights: Meet Michelle Wright of Xtreme Tint & glass

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Wright

Hi Michelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started tinting windows with my violent controlling X-husband. I really enjoyed this line of work and started trying to learn as much as I could online and learning about what all window film can do besides just make a car look good. Window tinting was my escape from what my life had become. I developed a passion and a sense of pride which encouraged me to be more in life. Problem was I was beaten down mentally and physically and didn’t think I could do it on my own. When I filed for divorce, i started working at another tint shop, only to see that they weren’t like me. They did work for a job or just for the money. They cut corners, used cheap film and had no customer service others than changing moneys. I wanted more. I left, I worked out of my garage for a while and did a lot of mobile work. I saved a lil cash and went back to the man I had rented the shop my x husband and I had rented and asked for something to rent. Now I have my own shop, it’s twice the size of my old shop,. I have a large customer base and every percentage of window film possible. I also use an excellent film that carries lifetime warranties. I’m proud of what I have achieved so far in life, and I pray that the 2nd part of my life will be worth talking about. My children are in the 20’s, but 8 yrs ago I became a Mimi to my granddaughter/daughter who stays with me full time. I want her to grow up knowing that no matter the odds, if you want something bad enough in life you can get it with hard work and determination. She is with me at work everyday after school and on weekends too. Whether she follows my job career or makes her own, just knowing if she wants it, she has to go get it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Physical abuse. Divorce. Trying to work in a man’s work field. Being accepted as an installer and not a helper. Quality film. I still struggle with finding help. Juggling a small child and work schedule. Doing everything alone.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Xtreme Tint & glass?
I install automotive, residential, and commercial window films. I use quality films made by SunTek, in which are lifetime warrantied films. Window tinting is a passion for me and every install is completed with pride. I try to get to know my customers and really engage on their desires and then try to take their desires and turn them into realities..

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as accomplishment goals have set in place no matter how long it takes.
