CocoaLux by Shae wasn’t born from a childhood dream—it was born from Godly redirection.For most of my life, I believed I was on the path to becoming a nurse. But in 2023, after stepping away from nursing school with uncertainty about my career, a spark was lit in the most unexpected way. With the guidance and encouragement of my mentor, Jessica Goldsmith, she took me to a craft store and brought a simple chocolate mold and melting chocolate—tools that would soon transform my life.What started as a creative experiment quickly turned into passion. I began with chocolate-covered fruits and cake pops, and over time, expanded to include cheesecake cups and cookies. Each dessert became a reflection of the joy and purpose I found in creating something sweet for others to enjoy.CocoaLux by Shae is more than a business—it’s a vision placed in my hands by God. Every day, I fall deeper in love with my craft and the journey it has taken me on. My dream is to see CocoaLux continue to grow, and one day, open the doors to my very own dessert shop.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting CocoaLux has been an incredibly rewarding journey. I’m grateful to be doing what I love—creating desserts that bring joy to others. The support I’ve received from the beginning, along with the encouragement and investment from those who believe in my vision, has meant the world to me.If I had to name one challenge, it would be navigating the behind-the-scenes aspects of running a business—particularly pricing and self-promotion through social media. However, this year, I’m committed to showing up more consistently, sharing my work, and letting the world experience the delicious flavors that make CocoaLux so special.
