Community Highlights: Meet Charlotte Berger of CBPR

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlotte Berger.

Hi Charlotte, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In May 2020, in the early months of the pandemic, I launched CBPR to help struggling restaurants and nonprofits through those difficult times. At first, it was just me, a laptop and a dream. Client by client, press hit by press hit, we’ve grown into a firm of 15. Looking back, I believe the pressure of trying to grow a firm during COVID led to a culture of hard work, efficiency and creative thinking. Going the extra mile is an expectation for us, and I think our reputation reflects that philosophy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I doubt any entrepreneur has had a smooth road, at least not the entrepreneurs who kept pushing. We work with people, and people can let you down. However, we’ve overcome the obstacles we’ve faced by being prepared. The first step was the decade I spent honing my skills, working long hours at great agencies and taking advantage of countless networking opportunities.

We’ve been impressed with CBPR , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
CBPR is a marketing agency that specializes in public relations, influencer marketing, digital advertising and social media. We work in several industries, including development, health and wellness, hospitality, design, tech, nonprofit, CPG, real estate and events. Most of our clients come to us after hearing from others in the community that we’re the marketing firm that gives realistic expectations and then delivers. We’re looking for long-term partners, and so it’s imperative that we operate on trust from day one.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
If you want to have a firm that takes good care of its clients, you have to first take great care of your employees. We’ve had minimal turnover over the past six years (far less than industry average), and that retention of skills and continuity of knowledge is our silent strength.
