Hi Brighid, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story starts long before Labyrinth Walking ever existed. I grew up in a family spiritual tradition rooted in the elements, our ancestors, and honoring the earth and her cycles. There was never a moment where I “discovered” this path, it was just woven into everyday life. Altars in the corner of the living room, seasonal rituals marking the turning of the year, my mom teaching me to read cards before I was even old enough to fully understand what they meant. It’s just always been part of who I am, and it’s only deepened and grown with me over the years.
Labyrinth Walking itself opened in August 2013, but that was really a rebirth of something my family had been building since 1998. My mom and I ran a shop called The Labyrinth, first up in Massachusetts, a state with such a rich, heavy history of witch trials and hauntings, and later in Ohio. For years we hosted classes and community events, and welcomed anyone who was curious, searching, or just needed a place to feel less alone in their path. Eventually life pulled us in different directions. The neighborhood around our shop fell into hard times, I went off to college, and my mom took a job two hours away. In 2005 we made the hard decision to close those doors for what we thought was the last time.
I ended up in Myrtle Beach, and it didn’t take long to feel the absence of everything I’d grown up with. I missed public rituals. I missed reading cards for people and watching something click for them. I missed sharing knowledge with people who were genuinely hungry for it. My mom and I had talked for years about opening something new here, since there really wasn’t anything like it in the area, and in 2013 we finally did it. Just the two of us, one folding table at a local flea market, offering tarot readings for a single weekend.
By the end of those two days, I knew I wasn’t done. I rented a full time booth and started rebuilding from that same 10×10 space, my mom right there beside me helping get it off the ground. For a couple of years I juggled that with a second job just to keep things afloat, until I got a pretty undeniable sign from the universe that it was time to trust myself fully. During a public circle, I’d set an intention asking to have anything holding me back removed from my life, fully aware that could mean some discomfort. Within days, my contract work ended completely out of nowhere. I don’t think it was a coincidence. That space is what let me finally pour everything I had into this dream.
From there we grew into a storefront in Socastee Plaza, where we spent years building out our classes, services, and events. Then in 2023, right around our 10 year anniversary, we made the leap into our current home in the heart of Myrtle Beach, a space so much bigger than anything we’d had before, with an entire room dedicated just to community gatherings and workshops.
Thirteen years later, we’ve grown from that little flea market table into a nearly 4,800 square foot metaphysical store and spiritual sanctuary. None of it has come without its challenges, but every single step has been worth it. What has made this journey so powerful, though, is the incredible community that keeps showing up for us, again and again, ready to grow, learn, and find themselves right alongside us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not even close, but I wouldn’t trade any of it. The road to Labyrinth Walking has had more turns than I ever expected.
When we finally started Labyrinth Walking in 2013, it wasn’t glamorous. We were working out of a 10×10 flea market booth, and for the first couple of years I was grinding through a full time second job just to keep the lights on while I tried to grow the business on the side.
Once we moved into Socastee Plaza, I thought we’d hit a season of stability, but 2019 had other plans. A fire broke out in a neighboring storefront and forced us to close for 10 weeks while the damage got sorted out. Just as we found our footing again, COVID hit, and we had to completely reimagine how we could show up for our community. That’s when we launched curbside pickup, virtual circles and classes, and eventually the Labyrinth Walking Academy, offering readings and services remotely over Zoom so people could still connect with us no matter what was happening in the world.
Even our move into our current location came with its own set of headaches. It’s a beautiful, historic space, but old buildings come with old building problems, roof leaks, plumbing issues, the kind of stuff you don’t see coming until you’re knee deep in it.
And then in May of 2024, I went through cancer treatment. That was, without question, one of the hardest chapters of this whole journey, not because of the business side of things, but because I had to learn how to actually rest and let myself recover when every instinct in me wanted to be at the shop. Thankfully, I have an incredible team who held everything down while I focused on healing, and I’ll never be able to fully put into words how grateful I am for that.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But every hard season taught me something I needed, and pushed me closer to the version of Labyrinth Walking we get to offer our community today.

Labyrinth Walking is a metaphysical shop and spiritual wellness center, but honestly, it’s so much more than a store to me. We’re a community hub first. We offer high quality crystals, ritual tools, candles, incense, and other metaphysical goods, but alongside that we run public circles for every sabbat, sound baths, classes, certification workshops, and events that bring people together throughout the year.
On the services side, we offer tarot readings, Reiki healing, crystal healing, sound healing, individual guided meditative journeys, and we even officiate weddings. All of our services are available remotely as well, so distance never has to be a barrier to getting support. And through the Labyrinth Walking Academy, we’re able to take our classes worldwide, teaching students anywhere they happen to be.
What sets us apart, I think, is that we don’t just sell products, we build relationships. We take the time to actually talk with people, whether they’re brand new to this path or decades into their own practice. We want every single person who walks through our doors, virtual or in person, to feel seen, supported, and free to ask questions without judgment.
Brand wise, what I’m most proud of is that we’ve built a space that genuinely feels like a safe haven. We approach everything with warmth over formality and depth over trend, which means you’re not going to find generic wellness buzzwords here. What you will find is real spiritual education, real ritual, and a real community that shows up for each other in ways that go far beyond a single transaction.

What matters most to you? Why?
Community, hands down. Everything I do circles back to that. I grew up watching my family create spaces where people could show up exactly as they were and be met with acceptance instead of judgment, and that shaped everything about how I move through the world now.
I think what matters most to me is making sure people don’t feel alone in their journey, whatever that journey looks like. So much of this path can feel isolating, especially for people who grew up somewhere they couldn’t be open about who they are or what they believe. I want Labyrinth Walking to be the opposite of that. A place where you can ask questions without fear, grieve without being rushed, celebrate without holding back, and grow at your own pace surrounded by people who actually want to see you thrive.
Sharing knowledge matters just as much to me. I want people to leave every interaction with us, whether it’s a reading, a class, or just a conversation at the counter, knowing a little more than they did before. Knowledge is empowering, and I never want anyone to feel like this path is gatekept or reserved for a select few when it should be accessible to anyone who wishes to walk it.
At the end of the day, it all comes back to creating spaces where people can show up exactly as they are, without fear of judgment. That’s the foundation everything else is built on.
