Community Highlights: Meet Bethany Bryant of D&R Tax Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Bryant.

Hi Bethany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey in tax preparation in 2021, working under someone else’s tax company. It was a great starting point—I learned a skill that would stay with me for life. I worked hard that first year and ended up serving about 40 clients. That might not sound like a lot to some, but for me, it was a major win. Up until then, I had only done taxes for family and myself, never really making money from it. So to turn something I casually knew into a real income stream was a proud moment.

I stayed with that company for two tax seasons, gaining experience and confidence. Eventually, I decided to branch out and create my own brand—D&R Tax Services. The name actually stems from my other financial business, Dreams Into Reality Solutions. I launched with a small but powerful team of 7 ambitious women. We showed up, stayed consistent, and worked hard. We’d meet on Zoom for trainings and strategy sessions, and by the end of that first year, we had served nearly 300 clients. That was a major milestone for us.

What meant the most to me wasn’t just the numbers—it was being able to show other like-minded women that this industry can truly change your life. It changed mine, and I’m forever grateful for that.

Fast forward to now, my team has grown to over 30 women, and this past tax season, we served close to 500 clients. Every year, we grow—and I believe it’s because we lead with integrity and a genuine love for our community.

We don’t just prepare taxes; we educate, empower, and give back. We host giveaways during and after the season, offer continuous support, and even organize community events like back-to-school bashes and trunk-or-treats for Halloween. Our clients are our top priority, and we work year-round to make sure they feel that.

This journey has been transformational, not just for me, but for every woman I’ve had the opportunity to mentor and grow with. And the best part? We’re just getting started.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If we’re being honest—absolutely not. In business, nothing is ever perfect and everything doesn’t always go smoothly. There were definitely hurdles along the way. I had to learn a lot, not just about taxes, but about leadership, running a team, and building a brand from the ground up.

There were moments of self-doubt, unexpected obstacles, and times where I questioned if I was doing things “right.” But every challenge brought growth. I made mistakes, I had to pivot, and I had to learn how to lead with both structure and grace.

But through it all, I remained committed to the vision. The struggles taught me how to move smarter, how to better serve my clients, and how to pour more into my team. So while it hasn’t always been easy—it’s always been worth it.

We’ve been impressed with D&R Tax Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
D&R Tax Services is more than just a tax preparation company—we’re a movement. We specialize in helping individuals and small business owners not only file accurate, maximized returns, but also understand their finances and build better futures. We’re known for being client-focused, community-driven, and committed to education.

What sets us apart is the experience we create. From the moment you work with us, you’ll feel the difference. Our team is trained to treat every client like a VIP. We don’t just aim to get you a refund—we aim to help you build wealth and gain clarity on your financial goals.

We’re also big on community. We host giveaways, provide year-round support, and organize events like back-to-school drives and trunk-or-treats. We believe in being present not only during tax season but all year long.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the growth of my brand and my team. Watching D&R go from an idea to a full-fledged company with a team of 30+ women and hundreds of clients each season has been nothing short of amazing. And we’re still growing.

We also offer tax preparer training for those who want to start a career in this industry, helping others turn a seasonal skill into a six-figure opportunity. Whether you’re looking to file taxes, start your own business, or learn how to build financial stability, D&R Tax Services is here to help you make it happen.

I want readers to know: we’re not your average tax office—we’re your financial empowerment partner.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Honestly, I wouldn’t say luck played the biggest role—faith, consistency, and obedience did. There were times things lined up in my favor, but I truly believe that was God’s timing, not just luck. Every opportunity that came my way, I had to be prepared to receive it. I had to show up, stay committed, and trust the process even when I didn’t see the full picture.

Of course, I’ve had moments that felt like bad luck—setbacks, unexpected obstacles, team challenges—but those situations taught me the most. They forced me to grow, shift, and become a better leader. So whether good or bad, everything that’s happened has worked for my good in the long run.

In this journey, I’ve learned you don’t have to wait on luck—you just need to stay ready so you never have to get ready.
