Hi Annastacia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey as an entrepreneur began with a simple passion: creating unforgettable moments that bring people together. I’ve always been drawn to entertainment and the joy it sparks in both children and adults, which is what inspired me to launch Star Performers Entertainment. What started as a small team providing face painting and balloon art has since grown into a full-scale entertainment company offering stilt walkers, jugglers, magicians, specialty acts, and more across festivals, resorts, private parties, and community events.
Alongside my entertainment business, I also help lead WayMakers, a charity founded in honor of my sister Mica. Through this nonprofit, I’ve coordinated community events, secured sponsorships, partnered with vendors, and managed large-scale charity races — blending my event management skills with a mission close to my heart.
Today, I’m proud to say my businesses have allowed me to not only support my family, but also make an impact in the community by bringing people joy and giving back in meaningful ways. I’ve built strong relationships with performers, venues, and organizations across the Grand Strand, and I’m always eager to expand our reach and create new opportunities for entertainment and community engagement.
What excites me most is knowing there’s so much more ahead — more events, more smiles, more opportunities to make memories that last.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road definitely hasn’t been completely smooth. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced challenges with building recognition, balancing budgets, and navigating the uncertainty of seasonal work. Early on, I had to learn how to market myself, manage a team, and juggle multiple roles — all while staying creative and keeping the quality of entertainment at the highest standard.
Another hurdle has been the natural unpredictability of live events — weather, last-minute changes, or logistical surprises. Each challenge has pushed me to become more resourceful, adaptable, and solution-driven, which has only made me stronger as an entrepreneur and leader.
What I’ve learned is that every obstacle holds an opportunity to grow. Those bumps in the road taught me resilience, sharpened my organizational skills, and reminded me of why I started — to create joy, connect people, and give back to the community.
