Hi Alisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the bridal hair and makeup industry began as an assistant to a woman from my church. Makeup artistry had always been a passion of mine, but at the time, I believed it was a dream that was out of reach.
I’ll never forget the very first wedding we worked together. The bride and her mother had beautifully DIY’d nearly every detail of the wedding. The only professional vendors they hired were a photographer and a makeup artist. On the morning of her wedding, the bride was trying to curl her own hair with a curling iron she had purchased from Walgreens. No matter how hard she tried, it just wasn’t working. Frustrated and overwhelmed, she began to cry.
I walked over and asked if I could help. I styled her hair, and the relief and joy on her face is something I’ll never forget. To this day, she still tells people that my friend and I helped save her wedding day.
That was the moment I knew this was exactly what I was meant to do.
I enrolled in cosmetology school and graduated at the top of my class. That was ten years ago, and ever since, I have dedicated myself to perfecting my craft and building a business centered around helping brides feel beautiful, confident, and cared for on one of the most important days of their lives.
What started as a simple act of helping one bride has grown into a thriving bridal beauty business that I’m incredibly proud of. My journey has taken me from Florida to North Carolina, and now to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. While East Tennessee is now home, my business extends far beyond the local area. I travel throughout the country to provide luxury bridal hair and makeup services, bringing calm, confidence, and a personalized beauty experience to brides wherever their wedding day takes them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anything worth having rarely comes easy, and this journey has been no exception. Building my business has required dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to keep learning, even when the road was challenging.
In the beginning, my confidence wasn’t where it is today. I had to push past self-doubt and continually invest in myself and my craft. Every year, I prioritize continuing education by attending classes, learning new techniques, and refining my skills to ensure I’m always providing the best experience for my brides.
Beyond mastering hair and makeup, I also had to teach myself the business side of entrepreneurship. From marketing and client communication to contracts, branding, and business strategy, I’ve worked hard to build a company that reflects professionalism, excellence, and genuine care for every client I serve.
Looking back, every challenge has been worth it. Each obstacle has shaped me into the artist and business owner I am today.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to choose one quality that has contributed most to my success, it would be genuinely caring about the people I serve.
Hair and makeup are only part of what I provide. On a wedding day, emotions are high, timelines can shift, and brides often need someone who can bring a sense of calm and reassurance. I take pride in creating an environment where my brides feel heard, supported, and confident from the moment I arrive until they walk down the aisle.
I believe people remember how you make them feel long after the wedding day is over. My goal has always been to make every bride feel beautiful, valued, and cared for—not just because of the way she looks, but because of the experience she had. That commitment to serving others with excellence, kindness, and professionalism has led to lasting relationships, referrals, and a business built on trust.
Technical skill is essential, but genuine care is what transforms a service into an unforgettable experience. I believe that’s what has made the greatest difference in my journey.
