Hi Troyanna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey as an artist has been one of faith, obedience, and growth. Art has always been a part of who I am, but it wasn’t always something I fully embraced as a calling. Over time, I came to understand that my creativity is a grace gift from God—one meant not just for me, but to be shared with the world.
I was deeply influenced and mentored by my art teacher, Mr. James (Jim) Biggers Jr., who helped shape not only my technical foundation but also my appreciation for art as a form of storytelling and cultural expression. His guidance planted seeds that would later bloom in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
For many years, my art lived quietly. I would create in moments of inspiration, reflection, and healing. But through prayer, encouragement from my husband, and a growing sense of purpose, I stepped out in faith and officially launched CreativeXpressions by Troyanna Shaw. Each body of work—which I refer to as ‘Xpressions’—reflects different seasons, emotions, and spiritual truths. My art is led by faith, created to inspire, and shared with love.
Today, I create original works and limited-edition, hand-embellished prints designed to uplift, encourage, and spark meaningful connection. Every piece carries intention, authenticity, and heart. This journey hasn’t been rushed or forced; it has unfolded exactly as it was meant to. I am grateful to be walking in purpose, trusting God with every next step.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Many of the challenges I faced weren’t external, but internal. I had to confront fear, self-doubt, and the areas in my life where I needed to grow spiritually and mature.
During those moments, my husband was a constant source of encouragement, reminding me to trust God in the process and to face — and conquer — the fears that were holding me back. His support helped ground me when doubt tried to speak louder than faith.
I learned to quiet my own thoughts and desires so I could clearly hear the path God was leading me on, rather than moving ahead on a path of my own making. Those seasons of growth stretched me, but they were necessary. Looking back, those struggles refined my faith, sharpened my discernment, and prepared me to walk confidently in the purpose God had already set before me.

I am an artist and Xpressionist specializing in multiple forms of creative expression. My work spans a variety of styles and mediums, allowing me to explore emotion, faith, culture, and storytelling in ways that are both personal and universal.
What sets my work apart is the spiritual drive behind the gift. Every piece in my gallery is born from prayer, passion, and purpose. My art isn’t created simply to be seen—it is created to move hearts, spark thought, and invite reflection. Each ‘Xpression’ serves as a visual testament to faith and lived experience.
What I am most proud of is seeing the vision God placed within me come to fruition. Watching that vision unfold—piece by piece, season by season—is deeply humbling. It affirms that when I remain obedient to His direction, the work speaks far beyond me, connecting with others in powerful and lasting ways.
