Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Butler.
Hi Tammy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Over 10 years ago I learned that I have Celiacs Disease. Options to eat outside of the home were very limited at that time. My husband, Shawn, is a chef by trade. He suggested that we attempt to sell pies at a farmer’s market. Surely there were others like me that would benefit from a Gluten Free business. That first year was an amazing start to a thriving business that includes more than pies. We offer freezer meals, soups by the quart, breads, pies, muffins, scones, cupcakes, chicken salad, pimento cheese, chex mix, keto options and more. Over the last 8 years, our dairy free and vegan options have expanded as well.
Shawn and I believe that all of the success and growth in our business is due to God’s faithfulness and provision. Romans 11:36 declares “For everything comes from Him and exists by His power and is intended for His glory. All glory to Him forever! Amen.” We see our business as an opportunity to meet a physical need while shining Jesus.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the largest hurdles has been perfecting gluten free baking. There was a tremendous learning curve with baking breads using gluten free flour!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Operating fully gluten-free sets our business apart from others and has helped to get our name out for those with Celiac or wheat sensitivity. Having Celiac disease myself makes me hyper aware of cross contact or contamination. Being able to look our customers in the eye and relate to their struggles to find safe food has created wonderful connections in our community.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
First, that God is magnified in our lives, and second, that dietary needs are met. It feels good to know that we are helping people.
