Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our story began in 2018, when we set out on one of the biggest adventures of our lives, trekking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal. Ruben bought a camera just to capture memories from the trip, but when we returned home and he started editing the footage, something unexpected happened. The process of weaving moments, emotion, and music together felt like pure storytelling, and a new passion was born.
What started as a hobby quickly turned into a calling. Ruben began filming retreats, brands, and personal projects, saying “yes” to every opportunity to grow and learn. That’s how Ruben Gomez Films was born, a one-man journey fueled by curiosity and heart.
Over time, we realized the most powerful stories aren’t meant to be told alone. Together, as husband and wife, we created Aligned Creative Media, blending Ruben’s cinematic eye with Ellie’s creative direction and communication. Today, we help couples and brands tell stories that move energy, connect hearts, and stand the test of time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it’s been easy or extremely challenging, more like a mix of both. We’ve been so blessed with referrals from friends, family, and people who have followed our journey on social media. Many connect deeply with what we share, and that’s been one of the most rewarding parts of this path.
Like anything in life, there are ups and downs. One of the challenges has been helping others understand the value of creative work. Sometimes people expect your time or talent to be free without realizing the amount of effort, energy, and investment it takes to bring a vision to life. The equipment alone can be incredibly expensive, but beyond that, it’s the countless hours of editing, storytelling, and heart we pour into every project.
Even through those moments, we’ve learned to see everything as part of the process. Every challenge refines us and reminds us why we started, to create with purpose, to stay aligned, and to keep growing through it all.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We tell stories through cinematic visuals that feel intentional, authentic, and full of heart. We specialize in brand storytelling, lifestyle content, and wedding films that capture emotion and energy in a timeless way. Our goal is always to create visuals that not only look beautiful but truly feel aligned with who our clients are and what they represent.
We’re most proud of the way our work makes people feel. Whether it’s a brand seeing their story come to life or a couple reliving the magic of their wedding day, those emotional reactions mean everything to us. We put our hearts into every detail from the way we communicate to the final edit , because we believe storytelling is energy, and the intention behind it matters.

What matters most to us is creating with intention and heart. Every story we tell carries energy, and we believe that energy has the power to move people, inspire connection, and spark emotion. We never want our work to feel transactional, it’s always about the deeper “why” behind every project and the impact it leaves behind.
We care deeply about authenticity, alignment, and purpose. When we stay true to those values, everything else flows naturally…. the right clients, the right stories, and the right opportunities.
