Check Out Phoebe Crouse’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Phoebe Crouse.

Hi Phoebe, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Health has always been my North Star. Raised by a health-nut mother and a triathlete dad, I learned early on that health is happiness. My mom was an excellent cook and gathered my family at the kitchen table each night (no TV whatsoever!), and my dad set the standard for having a disciplined movement practice. Despite having healthy influences at home, adolescence came with an onslaught of “lady problems.” Like many women, I had debilitating period cramps that kept me home from school. I also developed early and felt like a curvy black sheep compared to my thin female classmates. This spurred an early fixation on calorie counting and the inevitable pendulum swing to binge eating and food obsession. When I got hooked on yoga at 18 and experienced my first full-body-tingling shavasana, my awareness expanded. Yoga opened a portal: the connection to my body below the neck. Health became less of a box to check and more of an embodied experience. My evolving passion led me to explore herbs, meditation, climate activism and ancient medicine systems, such as Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine.

Even though I was a green-juice slammin’ vegan who religiously practiced yoga, I was navigating painful PMS, acne, gut issues, sugar addiction and a lack of vitality. My peers recognized me as a very confident person, but I was at war with my body and looping a critical inner dialogue. But I was not alone in my grievances. It seemed like period pain, food-obsession, body-shame, skin issues and burnout were par for the course with being a modern woman. It wasn’t until my mid-20s that Alisa Vitti’s book “Woman Code” fell into my lap that a lightbulb went off. This book educates women on what sex ed left out: our hormones are cyclical and our bodies require intentional nourishment. We live in a world built by men, for men’s bodies – and women’s bodies require a self-care practice that challenges wellness trends and cultural norms. I could not believe it took 27 years for me to learn how to optimize my brilliant female physiology. I fell in love with my research and created a hormone-balancing framework. I hosted my first workshop at my house and 20 women signed up! For two hours, I gushed about foods for each phase of your cycle, the intersection between the natural world and female physiology, blood sugar balance and toxic-free living. I felt a humble duty to open women’s minds up to an empowering perspective on their health. I was forever changed and had found my purpose.

With joy, I adopted a hormone-balancing lifestyle founded on nervous system regulation, blood sugar balance, circadian rhythms, deep nourishment and honoring the feminine. My period problems disappeared, my energy lifted, my gut healed, my skin cleared and I felt at peace with food. Most importantly, I began to feel like the confident woman I always wanted to be. Radiance bloomed from the inside out because my cells were in harmony and I was on the same team as my body. I knew I had cracked a code and others saw this in me. Women began reaching out to me on my Instagram asking if I would work 1:1 with them. Having no medical background, I was hesitant to assert myself in this field. However, the more I learned about women’s health and how few options are available for those who suffer from PMDD, PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, and hormone imbalances, I realized I could help women in a way Western medicine cannot.

Since I started working with women last year, I have formulated The Radiance Codes. It is a 20-week coaching program that supports women as they lay the foundations of radiant health. Part education, part good-for-the-soul sisterhood, I walk beside these women as they learn to balance their blood sugar, support their nervous systems, optimize their circadian rhythms, remineralize the body and ignite their feminine power! My approach is predicated on the firm belief that the body has the innate ability to heal when it is given a supportive environment and the right resources. This requires enduring lifestyle choices, no quick-fix pills or dogmatic trends. Having someone to support you as you make these changes is paramount!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a smooth road! My purpose came to me in an undeniable and enlivening way. I like to move at a slow and sustainable pace – especially because taking care of my health is my greatest value. I am lucky to say that most of my clients have fallen into my lap! The hardest part is balancing my two other jobs (videography and photography) while making the time to work on my podcast, build my website and market on social media! I believe building your dream career takes time. The feminine does not force or rush; she allows the process to unravel in divine timing.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I call myself a “Feminine Vitality Expert,” or a “Hormone Balancing Coach.” I specialize in supporting women as they adopt diet, lifestyle, and mindset foundations that optimize their hormones and honor their female physiology. I am an expert in blood sugar balance, circadian rhythms, sleep hygiene, cycle syncing and deep nourishment. I have married teachings from Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Western Medicine and herbalism to inform the teachings of The Radiance Codes. I’m proud of the fact that I have acquired all of my knowledge from my own research and, most importantly, listening to women’s stories. I have witnessed many women share stories of burnout, depletion and chronic illness, and our health struggles have similar origins. Conversely, I have seen women grow into an undeniable glow that comes from devoting their daily lives to the foundations that I teach. I am most proud of my intrinsic intention to uplift women. It is the absolute core of my “why.” I envision a world where women are thriving, and everyone is happier and more fulfilled because of it.
