Check Out Marvin Hess’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marvin Hess.

Hi Marvin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Started as a trainee for 4 Years at a Mercedes dealership in Germany, went to master tech school in Germany and worked in 2 more shops in Germany before I opened my own business in Germany, had the business for about 1 year and closed it to come to Greenville to work as a contractor in the BMW plant as master tech in 2017, worked also in Mercedes pant in Tuscaloosa and Charleston till Corona shut down plants.
Went back to Germany and worked 2 years as a master tech and shop leader in a business specialized in rebuilding engines for Mercedes, Volkswagen. Audi, BMW, Lamborghini and Ferrari.
After working for this shop for 2 years I got hired back by the contractor firm and worked at several different plants in Germany at VW, Mercedes and Porsche and got sent back to Greenville to work for BMW plant.
Decided to settle down in Greenville so I opened my own business and we are here working as MH Performance since 2024

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Lot of struggle to get all the paperwork together to be able to open a business and get a Investor visa for this matter.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m specialized on European cars, grown up all around them and worked on them ever since I can remember, i have a lot of projects always document projects and upload everything on my Youtube channel.
I also have a good connection to the European car scene since I attend car meets in this area and show presence with my own cars which also brings in business.
I’m really proud of a car I built and also race on local race tracks which is a Audi TT with a Chevrolet V8 drivetrain built for drifting.
Since we are a performance shop we do regular repairs but also a lot of customizing, we go the extra step to make the customers vision come true like our company slogan says “crafting automotive dreams with German precision”.

What matters most to you?
Customer satisfaction, I wanted to create a shop where customers can come a nice clean environment that makes them feel like they are in good hands, be fair with the pricing and don’t sell anything which is not necessary needed but give them all the information and knowledge to keep their car running and healthy as long as possible to avoid costly repairs.
