Check Out Liliana Vasquez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liliana Vasquez.

Hi Liliana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Colombia and I remember that almost every weekend my parents took me to this ice cream shop called “Mimos” and it was a tradition, we enjoyed talking about the new toppings and the new flavors in the menu, also sharing stories and laughing: so when I got married and moved out to PA I wanted to share the tradition with my husband and even during snow storms and blizzards I always craved ice cream and that’s how the idea of having our own ice cream shop was born.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I tried to open a store since I lived in PA but finally Myrtle Beach was the best place to start this adventure. It has been hard because there is no days off but we are extremely grateful that people really like the concept and the community has been very supportive.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve been in the finance business since 2003. I love to talk to customers and get to know their stories. I feel grateful because I was able to put a smile on people’s faces for long time and that is basically what I still do, so The Dolly Llama makes me very happy because I get to know new people every day and sometimes I get customers that came 6 months ago and they still remember me and off course they visit again.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
The Dolly Llama is real and she is alive, she is a very mischievous gal and brings happiness to every person that interacts with her!!!
