Check Out Ashley Higgins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Higgins.

Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was inspired by an associate in the field that was a neighbor to the company that I worked for at the time. I spent time with her, assisting with managing her job responsibilities. She began to tell me her story, and I realized that her work ethic and reasoning aligned with my values and peaked my interest. Once I got in the business, I realized that I could truly make a difference in someone’s life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a slightly bumpy road but worth it in the end. I got started a year or two before the pandemic. And COVID changed everything! The life insurance I sold required in-person correspondence, which was now impossible due to the quarantine. It was then that I pivoted to a position that did not include visiting a client’s residence. I now possessed the capability to provide my services via telephone and I also no longer restricted to just life insurance. That made the transition much better as well as more safe for my well-being. I was no longer required to be in a compromised environment no matter the detriment to my health. Being in an office setting and having the ability to provide a variety of services allowed me the freedom to prosper and realize my potential and career path.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I sell all insurance and the nuances of the fine print can often be confusing and misunderstood. Being able to help the clients who do not really understand what they are paying for, is rewarding in itself. I walk them through everything (patience being key) step by step, breaking everything down, until I was able to speak to the way they process and understand the information presented to them. And they get it! Once they get it, they are more than happy to refer people that they know, they call when they have a problem, and check-in just because. I make my clients feel like they are not just a number in a book that purchased some online policy that they take a leap of faith to pay for. Talking to a person that cares and listens makes a huge difference, as they feel better when they are treated like a person, and being checked in on. My clients looked forward to interacting with me and I them. All of this is what I specialize in, what I am most proud of, and what sets me apart from others. I cultivated relationships that went beyond the services I provided.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
The resources that I rely on are inspired by experiences from different aspects of my life, career, education, and training. I can recall a class that I was enrolled in, in which I was instructed to listen to a gentleman’s podcast. He spoke to the importance of securing a more reliable profession, if you are aspiring to ultimately be an entrepreneur. His methods and advice aligned with my career goals. Unfortunately I don’t recall his name, but his teachings led me to market my services via social media, referrals, and my professional website that includes customer reviews, access to support inquiries for quotes on policies, and a description of my journey and the services I provide. Social media and referrals I rely heavily on, and it’s implementation has yielded acceptable results, capable of growing even more. I do believe these tools absolutely help me do my very best.
