Today we’d like to introduce you to April Frazier
Hi APRIL, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I retired from the US Army in 2017 at which time I went to work for the SC Attorney General Office to establish their Veteran and Armed Forcew Legal Outreach (VALOR) Program. While traveling the state assisting our Veteran, Armed Forces and their families obtain free and/or reduced legal services I observed several areas of disparity accross the state. I decided to start Galatians 6:2 Homeless & Hunger Out reach in 2019. In 2020 we expanded from unsheltered homeless outreach to add a community food pantry in Elgin. Over the past 6 years we’ve served our homeless, veteran and food insecure members of the community providing much needed resources. This year 2025, we launched a pilot internship in partnership with another of my businesses. Gadget Doctors Technology (GD Tech). We selected to highschool seniors to receive training and mentorship with GD tech, to prepare them for college and adulthood. Hopefully, we will be able to continue the program. Today, in lieu of the lack of funding and grants, Galatians primary focus is unsheltered homeless outreach in Richland and Kershaw County. Just this past February we hosted a VIP Red Carpet Premier for a movie project that we and nearly 1100 nonprofits across the country partnered with called The Big 5 Give Back and the film “No Address” shined a light on the various aspects of homelessness in the US. The project is intended to generate funding for nonprofit organizations that service our homeless community. I hope to see more projects geared towards combatting the homeless problem in our country.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have definitely experienced our ebbs and flows. Up until this past year we have been able to expand and serve more of our in need community members. Sadly, with the economic crisis and the steadily increasing costs of groceries and various items, we’ve had to scale back our programs. At the end of 2024 we were forced to close the doors of our community food pantry.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My specialties lie in multiple areas. My miitary career provided me with training and experience in victim advocacy and community service. I served 24 years as a Military Police and Inspector General. Advocacy was a very large part of my career for most of my adult life. In addition, to Galatians 6:2, I founded A Moments Notice, LLC, Place of Worship Christian Center and Co-founded Gadget Doctor Technology. I utilized earnings and skills from Amoments Notice, LLC, Mobile Notary and Signing Agent business to support Galatians’ mission. Through Place of Worship Christian Center, I mentored teens in personal and spiritual development and provided local groups with space to operate and perform their missions for the good of the community. I am a SC Notary Signing Agent, An Ordained Minister, Mentor and Advocate.
What sets me apart from others is my dedication and committment. My passion for others drives me to provide the best possible service. I have so many accomplishments that I am proud of. The thing I’m most proud of is teaching my children and my grandchildren to have compassion and show care and concern for those less fortunate. Having them work side by side with me is my proudest accomplishment.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Honesty, proficency and committment have served me well. I am at a place where I can pass the baton to my children to carry on the work that I have started. Compassion and discernment go hand and hand in the world of advocacy.
