Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Williams
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started tattooing in a shop at age 21. Honestly I got to where I am at with it today through diligence and hard work. I never gave up on pursuing tattooing full time. No matter what I had to do. Even while occupying another job as an automotive technician throughout part of my apprenticeship. I’d get home from 12 hour shifts and take time to draw. Because I knew where I wanted to go and who I wanted to be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Mainly struggled with uncertainty. Early on in my career, And building up clientele. Also consistency in my work. Because I did have other jobs while working my way to where I am now. It was not smooth and it can be a bit nerve wracking to put yourself out there, not only to be judged by peers, but by actual judges at tattoo competitions.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a tattoo artist. I specialize in neotraditional, color realism and fine line stippling. These are the styles I am most known for. I’ve won more awards for my neotraditional style and color realism. These are the styles I am most proud of. I think what sets me apart from others is that I specialize in multiple styles, not just one.
How do you define success?
Success is consistency in work and in actions. You have to wake up everyday and plan to be successful. You don’t just have it, you live it. Faith without works is dead.
