Hi Icesiz; thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
Since I was 12, I have always had a thing for beauty and makeup-related! I even took up sewing and had my machine to make clothes. I wanted to become a fashion designer, and who knows, that may be down the line! But skincare and makeup has always been a passion. Skincare is the ultimate form of self-care to me and can boost your confidence the same way makeup can. With makeup, you can enhance what you have naturally in a bold way unique to you. It’s so cool, and I never get bored with it. And so, with my passions strong, I went to Esthetics school, got my license, and here I am today! I am doing what I love and am expanding my business daily!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’d say that life is never easy, but it’s your perspective and choice that makes all the difference! In the past, I have struggled greatly with depression rooted in self-esteem, comparison, and, ultimately, feeling like I haven’t taken advantage of my time here on this earth. And truly, after losing my sister, Asiya Jordan, my mental health took a turn for the worse. But through all trials and tribulations, God is so real in my life! With his power and grace, along with the support of my family, I have been able to regain strength and purpose! I have had the honor of being a local title holder for the Miss South Carolina Pageant for both the Miss USA & Miss America system! Being able to bring light to an area so deeply important to me – Mental Health Awareness – has empowered me more than I ever thought! Next year, I will be running for the state title again to share my platform, “You’re Not Alone,” and be able to gain scholarships to further my education! Filling your life with things that feed your soul gets you through the challenges we all face!
