Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Childress.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Good Habits Juicery was born in June 2022 after my family, and I wanted to share a fun take on a healthy food option with our community and surrounding communities. We knew we wanted to source as much as possible from local farms and businesses in our area. After bringing our food truck to life our wheels were officially on the road in August 2022. We got to where we are today by simply putting one foot in front of the other and forming connections within our community.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Owning a business is never a smooth road. We have had some smooth weeks and some turbulent weeks. With having a mobile business, the challenges usually come from our equipment. Some of our most important players are our generator and our truck. Without either of those items, we wouldn’t be able to operate. And we‘ve certainly gone through a few tires, blenders, and generators to keep our business hustling as much as possible
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
We serve cold pressed juices, real fruit smoothies, and açaí bowls. Our products each have personalities of their own, although our specialty is açaí bowls. Our açaí sets us apart for many reasons. We use pure organic açaí with zero sugar, blended by hand. Some açaí places use a sorbet-style acai, which is high in sugar. Our bowls are a perfect ratio of açai, granola, and fresh fruit. Our large bowl weighing in at 1.5lbs, we let the açaí be the main character simply because the açaí holds the most benefits. Although quality ingredients can be expensive, we proudly serve quality açaí and comb over our products to ensure they are quality all the way around.
How do you define success?
Success is how many lives we can touch through our wellness truck. Not only can you find healthy products, but our truck is a place to vent or ask for anything you might need regarding your health. We have cried, laughed, and shared words of encouragement with many customers. So, people being able to come to our truck and leave feeling better is my vision of success.
