Today we’d like to introduce you to Shakira Butler.

Shakira Butler

Hi Shakira, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am from Philadelphia and moved to South Carolina almost 3 years ago. In 2020, my little brother was murdered, and I wanted a way to remember his name, so I went to school for Cosmetology for nails, but I fell in love with hair. I aim to open 3 one one-stop-shop salons in Manning Sumter and Columbia, SC. Create an environment that’s fun-filled, like a place that’s home away from home.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been smooth, lol. That’s OK. However, I always say anything easy to get is not worth having. The main struggle is building clientele. Getting people to trust you when they don’t know you is hard, especially when you are new in town, and no one knows you. So, right now, it’s about building clientele.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a licensed Cosmetologist specializing in natural hair and hair growth. I do different types of hair treatment like protein or deep condition steam treatments and Chemical services like color rinses and relaxers. I offer re-twist for locs or starter locs. Silk press, I love lol. I also offer nail services for waxing. My goal is to have a one-stop shop. You can get every need done in one place from head to toe.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Yes. I also offer shampoo with all of my services (it’s a must ). If they book with me, it will be the best experience they will also have, if they visit my website www.llostudio.online they can view the price list.
