Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Chambers.
Hi Kendall, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, I am Kendall Chambers, a Share the Magic Travel travel agent. I am from a small town in North Carolina. Like most of you, I love to travel, especially to the most magical place on Earth and beyond. Traveling was always a way to reconnect with family. In my family, t was those memories got us through some tough times, especially after my uncle’s suicide. It was a death that shook our family. Reminiscing on our family trips, especially to the beach, cruising, or Walt Disney World, was a way for us to keep his memory alive positively to others and even ourselves. For that reason, I became a travel agent. I started my Instagram platform, Glitterandtheblonde (which is funny because I was not on social media platforms for over a decade). I wanted to allow families to make memories that will last them a lifetime. Through my time as a travel agent, I have found few people know how to use a travel agent or even know that travel agents exist, and I would like to change that. For that reason, GlitterandtheBlonde was born. I realized that people needed a platform filled with beautiful places, tips to get through this thing we call life, a laugh when tears are falling, and of course, a little Glitter.
I aim to send people to some of the most beautiful, magical places on earth to make memories with the ones they love the most. I would like for the travel agents of the world to be brought to demand and travelers to utilize us. Yes, apps and promotions on vacation websites are great, but it doesn’t beat the service a travel agent can provide (in most cases, travel agents like me are free for customers to use as the resorts pay us a commission). Traveling has always brought magic to my family and, in many ways, healing in some of our most challenging times, and something I hope to get to others!
Today, I continue to grow the Glitterandtheblonde brand on Instagram, planning trips for amazing clients and raising my three kids. Working with Share the Magic Travel agency opened doors for me to start GlitterandTheblonde, to get on camera to create things beyond a template. I have grown as a woman, a mom, and a businesswoman with the support of my family, I Share the Magic Travel Agency, and I love inspiring others on Glitterandtheblonde to enjoy life, live life and always add some Glitter!
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A smooth road, for most, doesn’t exist. If you wake up every day, there are bound to be bumps in the road. For me, there were many bumps along the way. The first was to step away from a great job at a local attorney’s office and walk into the unknown as a Travel Agent with Share the Magic Travel. Not only would I be building my business as a Travel agent, but I knew I needed a social media presence to get my name out there. As my mentor would tell you, I struggled with social media. Through lots of prayer and encouragement, I finally jumped, posting my first reel (thankfully, I had lots of support and help because I knew what a Reel was). After that jump, there was silence. The silence is the most challenging part; it leaves many questions that only time, faith, and prayer can answer. After months of daily posting, I finally had my first Viral Reel! That reel was birthed in my husband’s truck on a hot day, circling the parking lot of Target with my kiddos in the backseat. I thought that reel would be a flop, but it became a success (I call that a God Wink). A few weeks later, I decided to grow my Instagram as a platform for all beautiful things, exposing my real life and my family. By doing that, I have spoken with people worldwide who shared some of their stories. I am honored for their confidence to share them with me. It keeps me going (I even started Glitter&theBlonde over on YouTube to reach more people). Throughout this journey, it was faith and prayer that I began and continued even when the silence was so loud. Looking back, I see many God Winks when I needed encouragement or strength to care, and I am honored to be here with you in South Carolina Voyager Magazine.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Travel Agent with Share the Magic Travel and a rising influencer on Instagram for GlitterandtheBlonde. As a travel agent, I plan vacations anywhere clients want to travel. My most popular destinations are Walt Disney World; it’s hard to beat the most magical place on earth! GlitterandTheBlonde is my Instagram platform, where I list the most beautiful places to visit, the savings tips we all need, and fun reels to give a laugh and encouragement. I am mostly known as the funny, blonde travel agent who wears a lot of Glitter but delivers organized, fun vacations for others. I am most proud of seeing the pictures that come to life from my clients when they are talking about their trips! The smiles and joy their faces are filled with is why I choose to do this every day. What sets me apart is my genuine love for what I do; it’s my passion and my anthem. Many years ago, I wanted to inspire people to see the world, find their voice and make beautiful things. Now, I am.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
My advice is simple, Look up. In life, it’s simple to see what is practical or right in front of you, but when you look up, all you can see is beauty with space and opportunity. Whenever I feel lost or confused, I challenge myself to stop whatever I am doing and look up. For me, looking up also means a prayer. After seeing the beauty from above for a few seconds, things look better below. Trust your dream; if it’s been burning inside you long enough, it has a place in your reality. It will be challenging, but you will only make sense once you pursue your true purpose.
