Today we’d like to introduce you to Armand Groesbeek.
Hi Armand, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started tattooing about 11 years ago in a small town in South Africa called Vereeniging. With a lot of hard work and determination, I started my shop and had that for 9 years, called House of Holland Tattoos. Seeing that I’m of Dutch descent, I thought it fitting for the name. I came to the USA in November 2022 to tattoo and work at Magic Rooster Tattoos in Mauldin, SC.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh no! There were many struggles, from opening a new shop when I started tattooing to moving across the ocean to start a new life in the US. Each year had its struggles. But I’ve never backed off any challenge, which has paid off so far.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Black and Grey realism tattooing and some color realism tattoos. I’m mostly known for my black and grey, but I’m always excited to do some color realism. I’m proud of myself for getting this far when so many times, giving up looked like the best option.
