Hidden Gems: Meet Lyndee Simoneaux of Town of Bluffton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndee Simoneaux.

Hi Lyndee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I met my now husband at the College of Charleston and moved to Bluffton about 27 years ago. We got married and started the Sippin’ Cow Cafe. We sold the restaurant when our daughter was 6 months old. I took a few years off to be a mom and had our second child. Later my husband and I took over his family business Scotts Meat Market. Once he got up and running, I went to work at Affordable Healthcare for 10 years. I decided I was ready for a challenge and joined the Town of Bluffton as the Special Events Manager almost 3 years ago. I have loved being a part of this unique over many years and am blessed to call Bluffton my home.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning to juggle a family and a career is always challenging because I want to be the best at both.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your business.
Town of Bluffton Vision Statement says it all: Bluffton, the Heart of the Lowcountry, is a Town that appreciates the past, focuses on today, and is planning together for a more fantastic future. I am the Special Event Manager for the town and plan all of the Towns sponsored events, such as the Christmas Tree Lighting, Christmas Parade, and Independence Celebration. I also help co-sponsor events in town, such as Mayfest, Arts and Seafood Festival, and many more. I also oversee all Facility Rentals in the Town: Rotary Community Center, Field of Dreams at Oscsar Frazier Park, Wright Family Park, Martin Family Park, Oyster Factory Park, Buckwalter Place Commerce Park @Veterans Memorial Park. We have two new parks coming to the venue list soon: the Buckwalter Place Commerce Park @ Amphitheater Section. I am most proud of my customer service. My biggest achievement was winning Employee of the Year for 2023

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about the Town of Bluffton is its beautiful parks and friendly people. There isn’t anything I dislike.
