Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Jacques.
Hi Cindy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Leaning into a God-given gift of visualization and design, I started Buttercup Designs four years ago for the sole purpose of helping others bring the vision of their home to life. In a short time, I needed to expand my staff and hired Wendy King. We compliment each other for a well rounded and unique approach to design. We work alongside contractors to design new and existing homes and select fixtures and finishes throughout. We are blessed to love what we do every single day! We thrive on seeing our client’s dreams come true.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
The pandemic changed the supply chain landscape and, therefore, our business. As the building/remodeling industry is booming, we used this unique time to refocus our business on the hard finishes and fixtures for new construction and remodeling. We continue to offer our clients soft finishes, furnishings, window treatments, etc. but in a more limited capacity. We strive to achieve the aesthetic desired within the budget limits. Marrying a budget with expectations continues to be challenging, especially with the inflated cost of materials and labor. Pinterest is a wonderful resource, but finding solutions within a budget‘s guardrails can require creativity.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Buttercup Designs?
Buttercup Designs is a boutique design firm dedicated to creating, updating, and renovating. Our projects extend throughout the Upstate. Your space, however big or small, should reflect your personality and style.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Our industry will continue to grow, especially in the Upstate area. We see a trend toward builders realizing the value designers bring to the build process and see more and more contractors offering a design-build experience to their clients. This collaboration between the design team (architect & interior designers), and build team (project managers), and the client has the best potential for bringing a client’s dream to life.
