Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Bond.
Hi Chad, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
What started in my teens as a part-time job sanding cabinet doors turned into a lifelong pursuit and passion for woodworking. These days I operate a one-person shop in Charleston, SC.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
That’s funny! There are many levels of understanding and knowledge within crafting things from wood. Each level requires its own unique set of payments and sacrifices. But, within the struggle is the growth. I continue to learn every day. So, for that, I am grateful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make custom furniture and fine cabinetry and restore and repair antiques. My ability to handle various technical woodworking projects sets me apart from other shops. I love working with clients and builders to achieve the exact ideas they would like fulfilled. That is a large part of the joy I find in this craft.
We’d like to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I don’t know about either good or bad luck, but there are no mistakes or coincidences.
