Today we’d like to introduce you to James Lucas.
Hi James, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started this company 6 years ago because I was looking to create my own lane. For a long time, I was just a local musician who got the occasional call to take an average club or bar gig. I was the leader of a previous band but based on the things I wanted to accomplish, the paths that we all wanted to walk in didn’t align. So in an effort to not become so heavily reliant on other people to drive opportunities for me, I started building a new team.
I wanted to work with people like myself who weren’t the most known names around town but had an exceptional level of talent. So I began working leads and making connections from other connections and eventually the team was all in place. I started working to get leads via word of mouth and social sites and eventually, I started to capture the attention of the company that is currently the agency representing us. Since beginning the partnership with our agency, we have grown into one of the most sought-after private event entertainment companies.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been a number of challenges along the way, from maintaining personnel and balancing work and home life around a demanding schedule. On average, we are on the road about 46 weeks out of a year. This means adjusting schedules to accommodate rehearsals and home life activities to ensure we can meet the demands of the schedule.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize in creating lifelong memories. Our focus is on curating event entertainment to meet the needs of each client’s specific requests. My goal has always been to produce shows that allow those watching to feel like they are spending a night at the concert of all of their favorite artists on the same ticket. So we perform a high-energy show in a mashup format that brings the music to life by performing songs in the original keys that the artist recorded them in.
