Meet Rebecca Deans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Deans.

Hi Rebecca, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since I was a little girl, I was a natural organizational guru. I was organizing EVERYTHING I could get my hands on. While many kids played outside, I would find myself organizing my CD collection first by genre, and then alphabetically within each genre. Don’t even get me started on color coordinating from there…

Everyone in my life saw my genuine joy of making things “neat” and systematic. Since that young age, my love for it has grown over the years as myriad people sought me out for help and advice in creating space and systems. I found myself being asked by my family, members of my church, teachers at the school, or friends throughout the years. Being that “go-to gal” for everyone created a sense of purpose for me.

In 2012, I became an assistant for a Mary Kay Director who asked me to reorganize her office to make it more functional. This may seem small to some, but to me, it felt HUGE as my first paid organizing job. I could get paid to do something I loved? It was the spark to a flame I needed.

That flame continued to burn, but not as brightly, as financial insecurity and societal influences crept into the back of my mind. I was unhappy trying to make various careers in different industries work just because it was the “smarter” or more “secure” thing to do. Nothing made me feel as purposeful and fulfilled as creating that peace and calm for people in their spaces. In 2021, with the help and a slightly aggressive (loving) push from friends, I was encouraged to go all in and try to make it, full-time, with my own organizational business. I created my own LLC and Shift into Organized was officially born.

Since the birth of my dream company and career, we, as a business, have helped so many people and families ditch the chaos and stress of THINGS in their homes, in order to bring forth a new peace, calm, and space for life to take place. Many people can take having a clear and inspiring space for granted, but we have seen it with our own eyes: a cleaner space is a happier space. Shift into Organized helps you become organized in all areas of your life, whether that is in your home, office, your upcoming move, finances and bookkeeping, and more. Let our passions help you create more time and space for the things you are passionate about.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think any small business owner can say that it is smooth sailing to open a business. If you are a small business owner that can, please get in touch with me! I would love to get your secrets.

I have come to believe that anything worth achieving definitely has struggles and obstacles to face. Personally, I think the hardest struggle was opening & navigating a full-time small business through the pandemic, post-pandemic & now, inflation. This has been a struggle not only for myself and my small business but also with clients & potential clients. I think my biggest challenge and strength is creating options for each of my clients with different budgets in mind.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Shift into Organized we focus on helping people find organization in all areas of their life! Our main focus at this time is through professional organizing and bookkeeping services; we are most known for home & office organization. We do have exciting plans formulating to expand our service offerings in the near future, so stay tuned!

What sets us apart is our passion and genuine love of seeing people’s minds and hearts put at ease when we are able to break things down in a simple systematic way that makes sense for their everyday lives. So often, our human brain tries to overcomplicate things, creating more stress and chaos. We, at Shift, break things down into simple steps, and we do it at a budget that is right for you.
