Meet Nicholas Ginn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Ginn.

Hi Nicholas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been a creative, mainly involving graphite and acrylic pieces. Being an artist causes you to look at things differently. My dad spent years using the Pentax brand and in 2004 when his eyesight was dwindling, he gave me my first real camera; his Pentax K1000 35mm Film that I still own. Since then I’ve spent plenty of money processing film canisters at, then local processors. I took a trip headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway and on the way, I realized we didn’t bring a camera. We stopped at a Walmart and I was introduced to my first digital camera; a Canon Powershot. From this point, it just began to blossom until 2019 when I founded Natural Graphics Photography. Including myself, our company consists of my girlfriend, Shannon and my sister Kimberly. We worked through the rebel line of Canon crop sensors and currently, our newest are the Canon R6 and RP. We also added videography to our already prospering photography company. We’ve been featured on the Discovery Channel, SCETV, and several magazines to name a few. In July 2021 my dad attended my youngest son’s birthday party and after it was done, he rode along to a photo shoot we had scheduled at a local saddle club. He enjoyed photography and horses and afterwards he confirmed it and added that he enjoyed seeing his sons doing what he passionately enjoyed for so many years. In August of that same year, he passed away. It was a great opportunity and feeling of him seeing me in action doing what he loved. It’s a certainty that we never know when it’s our turn to meet Jesus in person. This is a huge factor in me continuing to push forward and always work to better myself and our company.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing worth anything is a smooth ride. The main struggles in my opinion in this industry is getting your name out there, being trusted to gain clientele, and getting pricing smoothed out.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
All my life, I have been in a public service type position. I was a boy scout, am a certified firefighter, spent 17 years in law enforcement, volunteered in several community oriented events, became a mason and a shriner, currently serve as an elected councilman, and my primary employment is working for the state department of education. I draw, paint, and work a full time business as a photographer and videographer. I have associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in business management, accounting, management, and leadership. I am transparent with all I do. I have three boys ranging from 4 to 21. Some things that set me apart from other is I keep my word, I am family-oriented, and I believe in giving more than what I would expect if I was receiving it.

Any big plans?
Currently, we have some plans for the future but taking them in increments along the way. We have an overall goal, things to accomplish each month and year, a 5-year goal, and 10-year goal. These are all fluid and can change or be changed as we move forward. As for the specifics, we like to not be transparent on them until we implement them. Then we will tell all.
