Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Shely.
Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started sharing my daily outfits late in 2019. I was home with my two boys and needed a creative outlet. I have always loved clothes and seemed to have an eye for color and coordination. It has grown, very slowly, into actual friendships with other women and relationships with brands.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think there are definitely struggles, almost daily. Instagram is flooded with influencers, so sometimes it’s difficult to find your voice. So, I think it takes time to actually find the right followers, the people who resonate with your style and your personality. Although I am still small, I truly think I have found people who “get” me and enjoy following along.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
On my platform, I share outfits, style tips, and some home and lifestyle content. I am probably most known for sharing my style. My motto is, “if you’re in your thirties, but want to dress like you’re in your fifties, you’ve come to the right place.” I share real life, practical outfits for motherhood.
How do you think about happiness?
As far as what I share on Instagram, a really good dress makes me happy. For me, I require sleeves, a midi or maxi length, and comfort for practical, everyday use. As far as my everyday life (as I share very little of my family), my husband, my two boys, and my greyhound bring me the most joy. They make me feel the most loved and the most appreciated.
