Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazzlynn Romero.
Hi Jazzlynn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a mom of two who is always on the go, whether it’s work, school or taking my son to football. I have always been into fitness but mainly did it to lose weight, but for some reason when I just let it go during my pregnancy. I was always busy with work, school, and internship that by the end of the day I was just exhausted. It wasn’t until after I had my daughter that I fully committed myself to workout not mainly to lose weight but become stronger and build muscle. I am originally from San Jose, CA so my journey started in a small gym known as War Fitness Bay Are. When I reached out to the owner, Zay, he invited me in to go in for a consultation so that he can she whether I was ready to start fully or ease into it. When he completed my assessment, he told me that he could definitely help me reach my goals. I was super excited to start but so nervous because I had my daughter via C-Section so all I could imagine was the worst! I signed up in mid-June of 2020 and committed myself by going Monday-Saturday and did personal sessions Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I was working out 8 times a week! At first, I was doing it to look better, but instead, it became a habit and something I loved to do to feel better. Working out has taught me to love myself more. As I’ve said before I was doing it to lose weight but it has taught me to be more confident in my skin as I am. I now train at 3D Fitness here in Greenville, SC and continue to learn and grow everyday.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. There have been times where I do not want to work out at all but push myself and by the end of the workout, I am glad I did it. Also, being a full-time working mom of 2 can be tricky to work around to find the time to get a workout in. I am lucky to be able to also have a home gym so when I do not make it to the gym, I can work out at home. Another big struggle I have had along the way is the way I eat. I try my best to meal prep but it does not always work out the I hope. So instead of cooking once for the whole week, I do what works best for me. I cook my veggies on Sundays and then I cook my meats daily for the next day. I’m not sure why but that is just how I’m sure to get my meals in.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a mom of two who has fallen in love with fitness. I love to share my fitness journey with others to show that anyone can do it, whether if you’re new to the game or not. I’m most proud of learning to love myself in my own skin. I always struggled to feel good with myself and at first the reason I started to work out was to lose weight. After a while, I just feel in love with it and enjoyed working out. I would say what sets me apart from others is just sharing not only fitness and health but also fashion and what’s it like to be a mom.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My trainers deserve so much credit for always pushing me even when I thought I couldn’t they knew I could. War Fitness Bay Area is not your ordinary gym. It is Veteran owned and when you are taking those group classes, you will be yelled and pushed a lot! If it was not for them, I don’t think I would love fitness as I do now.
