Due to her multiple challenges, 2nd through 6th grades, ZAS was an intermittent homebound student and transferred to Full Medical Homebound, where she did not attend in-person school. After her 6th grade year due to continued health challenges, ZAS took the homeschooled path for her 7th and 8th grades years. With ambition, drive, and determination, ZAS continued to push!!! Due to the continued covid-19 outbreak, ZAS wasn’t able to attend in-person classes her freshmen year. As a sophomore, ZAS will remain homeschool. ZAS is currently seeking her passion as an independent model and to fulfill her career in nursing in the future. She enjoys being a spiritual encourager, journaling, traveling, exercising, dancing, shopping, flying, hanging out with her cousins & friends, and hanging out with one of her godmothers in Atlanta. She’s a board member of Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital formally MUSC Children’s Hospital -(YPAC) Youth Patient Advisory Counsel, Charleston, South Carolina, a member of the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) of Charleston with the Mayor’s Office for Children, Youth and Families – Mayor John Tecklenburg, Charleston, South Carolina, a member of SCAHEC ( South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium),

Taylor, was an assistant to the Chair ( her mother LaToya D. Scott) on the “Dr. Tonia Aiken Taylor Memorial Highway Project” where the Late Dr. Tonia A. Taylor ( First African American women to serve as a Counsel Women for the Town of Moncks Corner, in Berkeley County, South Carolina ) highway was named in her honor passed by the South Carolina General Assembly 2021-2022 SC BILL H3785, and recently became the owner of The ZAS Company, LLC.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No and yes, due to my many health challenges; being in and out of the hospital and not being able to do things my peers did/do sometimes was a little aggravating. But I was/am blessed because it allowed me to receive the nourishment that has helped me grown into the young lady I am today and will continue to be.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have a passion for helping others. I would say 6 years old maybe, I helped my mom take care of my grandmother (Budd- The Late Evelyn Ann Scott-Smalls)  who was disabled and passed away in October 2016. So, seeing my grandmother go from taking care of herself and helping others, to not being able to do nothing for herself; pushed my second passion to becoming a future RN. At 5 years old, every Christmas Budd and my mom would buy a gift card and have me randomly walk up to someone and bless them with a gift card. To date, my mom still does ( we ( Budd, my mom & I)) were/are “BIG” givers!!!  We also donate food and clothing to the local homeless shelter in Charleston, South Carolina (One80 Place). And I love crossword puzzles, looking at house magazines (house goaling for my future), vision boarding, and CARS!!!!

What was you like growing up?
Bright, funny, “of course cute”, wise, smart, playful, likeable, joyful, happy, “spoiled”, mini fashion icon, respectful, full of energy, family orientated, and full of faith. Oh, and I traveled a lot… I’ve been to Florida (Jacksonville, Tallahassee, & Tampa), Texas ( Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Schertz) , North Carolina ( Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh), Georgia ( Atlanta, Savannah, Valdosta), Maryland (Baltimore & Hanover), Washington, DC, Tennessee ( Greenville), was recently blessed by one of my aunts ( Aunt Sharon) with a birthday trip to Nassau Bahamas, and I’m looking forward to traveling more places ( Maldives, Cabo, Paris France, & Dubai) since I’ve recently gotten my passport.
