Hi Zendre’, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My desire for jewelry making began after moving to Greenville, SC about 4 years ago from WI. Shortly after arriving, I was approached by an artist in the art crossing district asking if I was looking for a job. Although I initially declined the first offer, I decided to inquire more about what was entailed with working at her studio.
After much consideration, I decided that this would perhaps be something I might enjoy. There is a saying…” Someday, everything will make perfect sense. For right now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.” It was then that the inspiration for making jewelry was born and after 4 years, it now makes perfect sense. I have now launched a website and have been able to share my earrings in Boutiques in North and South Carolina. This is something I truly find delight in.!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes, With anything, there are always challenges.. For me, it was getting the opportunity to showcase my earrings in the local markets. Many of us start by participating in local farmers’ markets and festivals. Having been turned down on numerous occasions can be discouraging giving me the feeling my earrings are perhaps not good enough. But persistence and reassurance from satisfied customers gave me the determination to continue.With every little step of assurance, first from the markets, then wholesaling to the boutiques, and finally online has solidified my confidence.

What makes my product unique is not only are they stylish, fun, and colorful earrings, but they are also super lightweight. They are made of cork and genuine cowhide leather which gives them durability and allows them to weigh less than the average earring.
How do you define success?
The ability to enjoy what you love and in the process be able to make others feel good about themselves.
