Meet Brittiney Moore of 8th Wonder Cuisine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittiney Moore.

Hi Brittiney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My first memories are of me and my grandmother baking scratch biscuits and pancakes as the sun rose over our back field in Pinewood, SC. She taught me how to make the perfect grilled cheese at just 4 years old. I was hooked. I founded 8th Wonder Cuisine (8WC) in 2012 with the intent of bringing my Grandma Moore’s wholesome goodness to our patron’s dining table. Food is more than sustenance; it evokes tale-telling emotion. Now, we’re a mobile catering company, specializing in personal chef & bartending services.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not, I’ve experienced my fair share of setbacks. I do believe, however, who you are in the face of adversity can be a defining factor in your future; it can build character. I started this company 10 years ago, and since then we’ve grown, expanded, and re-branded.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
8WC is a mobile catering company specializing in personal chef and bartender services. Intimate dinners for 2 or 12, catering for 25 or 500, large affair or small, we’ve got you covered. Offering premium services with a one-stop-shop experience, we’ve partnered with some of the best of the best in the industry. Our goal is not to simply deliver food and drink, but good ol’ Southern hospitality. We’re minority-owned, and woman-led, with the best staff personally vetted by Jacueline, our Director of Operations.

About 4 years ago, I created the highly sought-after, Avante Garde, “Ultimate Surf ‘n’ Turf” dish. The rose-topped colossal shrimp skewer, standing over a Maine lobster tail, snow crab cluster, and porterhouse steak, served with my the Chesapeake Bay cream sauce and lemon asparagus is often duplicated by many.

The Red Rose Gala, now in its third year, benefits Carrie Me On, a nonprofit I started as a namesake for my late mother, serving terminal cancer patients in Sumter County’s underprivileged communities. An unforgettable evening of philanthropy put on for our sponsors and benefactors supporting our mission.

Under the 8WC umbrella currently lies:

Enhance by Brittney– my line of infused oils and seasonings; available exclusively on our online shop, soon in stores.

Subject: Cocktail– craft cocktail mixers; available at select stores, soon on our online store.

brunch it up! Food Trailer– a pop-up brunch spot making scheduled appearances near you.

With a bucket list of projects and ideas, we’re just getting started. We may still be the new kids on the block, but we’re proudly making some noise. Ultimately, we guarantee every experience you have with us will leave you happy and whole.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Experience isn’t free of cost, nor is it easily accessible. Get in the trenches working under someone better than you and always check your ego.
