Meet Amelia Arthur-Smith of Embark Content Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amelia Arthur-Smith.

Hi Amelia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My background is best described as a coloring book comprised of different pictures, skills, color palettes, and designs. Growing up in NYC, I was an amateur child actor who loved theater and even landed a role as an extra in a major motion picture. I was very fortunate to have traveled the world at a young age, and to my parents’ surprise, all that travel inspired me to become a pilot.

After becoming a commercial pilot and active flight instructor, I got injured, and reality changed for me. Who knew running in NYC could impose such injuries?! I wasn’t done helping people, sharing my knowledge, and impacting the world. So, I went back to school to get my MBA. There, I earned the role of Marketing Research Associate, where I acquired my consulting hat and consulted for international companies, defense companies, and start-ups. From there, I worked for Fortune 500 and 250 companies in all aspects of sales and marketing (literally, from product development to eCommerce). I was then offered to work for a private firm, helping authored CEOs and entrepreneurs grow their digital authority.

During this time, I also co-founded a modern minimalist brand, Tiny House Authority, with my life partner, Martin William Harvey. If you’re interested in going tiny, I welcome you to scope it out at tinyhouseauthority.com.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
With all these wonderful life experiences in tow, my inner voice was pushing me to start a boutique content marketing company. Specifically, I sought to create a content marketing company that would help entrepreneurs grow their businesses online so they could scale and streamline their lead generation process giving them more time to live a life worth living. You shouldn’t have to rely on networking and referrals to be successful not when you have a much better chance of attracting your ideal customer online than you do anywhere else.

Since I have been in marketing for over a decade; working with fortune 500/250 companies, marketing agencies, and start-ups, all the while consulting, freelancing, and starting my own online businesses, I can tell you I learned very quickly what works, what doesn’t work, and what is a complete waste of time. I found so many business owners falling prey to time and resource wasters and knew there had to be a better way. That’s why I created Content On Purpose™ to help business owners scale their business online, attract their dream customers, and say hello to a balanced life.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Embark Content Marketing?

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Through my journey, there are several life lessons that I believe can be helpful both personally and professionally. Take note of how you spend your day, and for things that don’t serve you, automate, eliminate or delegate where you can.

Take it slow, don’t rush processes, and let them develop over time.

Time isn’t real, so be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned.

Don’t take life so seriously; it’s ok to laugh at yourself.

Be kind even when it’s hard; be kind to yourself and others.

Less is more; actively edit your life.
