Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Weston.
Hi Nicole, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Hello, I’m Nicole Weston formally known as Eursel Ashford. I’m a South Carolina native and I’m married with 4 kids. As a career, I am an entrepreneur. I am a cosmetologist, certified hair loss specialist, travel agent, business instructor, model, and lifestyle positive coordinator.
I started servicing hair clients in my high school days and became licensed in 2007. In 2013 I began hosting and modeling at local events and clubs in my city. 2018 I wanted to elevate my cosmetology career and began servicing hair loss clients with alopecia. I began linking and connecting to oncologists to build a new client base. I then became certified as a Hair loss specialist in March. I was at my peak in 2019 with gaining new clients, modeling, and building my salon with some solid employees; called Artistry Beauty Clinic, upstairs @ 128 Assembly Street inside Capital Nails and Spa. Mid May I wanted to help my community and teach young women how to braid. So, I went the Kenneth Shuler and received my Methods of Teaching certificate so that I can become an instructor and change the world. More so in my state.
Eventually, I’ll open a new era in the industry for natural stylists and Braiders in Columbia South Carolina. My major goal is to open a school or education business to help already or interested licensed individuals elevate before they become entry-level essential stylists or specialist. (Not your regular stylist)
In 2020 I gained 50 mentees under my built for business knowledge and help the receive their Braiders license and physically taught them how to braid. However, in March 2020, Artistry shut down due to COVID restrictions and protocol changes for safety. Throughout COVID I was able to process a few hair loss claims and I had to stop. Everything shut down! At the time my husband begins Driving trucks so luckily, we had income. My business was never belled out or saved with any govt funding. So, I started a lifestyle Positive e-commerce business so that I could make some passive income while home with the kids. XclusiveFitKits is a sexual education company retailing sex toys, condoms, natural health products, and much more including traveling.
Now that the pandemic has fewer restrictions, I’m in the process of finishing my instructor credentials, becoming licensed in multiple states, and educating around the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t! The most struggle is the pandemic and being able to make the moves I’d like to make. To complete my goals.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a cosmetologist, Instructor, Business Specialist, Hair Loss Specialist, Lifestyle Positive Coordinator, Model, Student, and Travel Agent. I’m most proud of becoming an instructor.
