Daily Inspiration: Meet Dani Billings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Billings.

Hi Dani, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Being raised in a business-minded family I always knew I wanted to be in business and leadership. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Retail Management with a focus on Fashion Merchandising. I started my career in big-box retail, but have experience in luxury and specialty retail. I have made it my mission as a woman in a once mostly male-driven position to not only master the art of retail but deliver the best possible customer service to each and every customer. I pride myself on being able to take all of my experiences from my professional career with me, which allows me to continue to learn and grow not only as a person but as a leader.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been necessarily a smooth road. As with everything in life, it does bring challenges and obstacles. I truly believe that growth comes from not just what you have been through, but how you respond to it. Starting my management career so early in life, I dealt with having to learn how to manage people that were older than me. That was a tough adjustment at first on both ends, but it taught me a lot.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently the Store Manager of the Orvis store downtown. I specialize in retail management, building relationships with partners and customers, and visual merchandising. I would say I am most proud of my ability to take any situation put in front of me and not only make the best of it but exceed the expectations.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I am always available in-store or through email/social media!
