Check Out Andrea Fabian’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Fabian.

Hi Andrea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I founded Palms and Places Imagery after working for years with a wedding photography company based in Columbia, SC. While I had an amazing time there and learned a ton, I wanted to focus my efforts in creating an amazing experience for my couples from the moment they inquire, that centers around my relationship with them, plus producing amazing images! You see, in order for me to be able to capture the purest, most intimate moments, I need to know more than just a name and Instagram handle. I need to know about your first date, the moment you knew they were the one, your favorite activities to do together, and so much more! I have created this company to give you the most unforgettable, wedding experience, filled with laughs, adventures, and REAL connections with REAL people. Our team here is our family and is comprised of some amazing people and, of course, some crazy furry family members. Our photographers work tirelessly at perfecting their craft, always learning and improving on different tricks and techniques that will help to set your images apart from all others. We have a dedicated in-house photo editor that guarantees the quality and consistency of all your images across the board, and we will work as a team to make sure all of your questions are answered and that you have full trust and confidence in us from the moment you inquire.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The time leading up to the opening of Palms and Places Imagery had its ups and downs, like every business. I was comfortable in my position working for another company and was learning a lot. But there was still something missing.

When I finally made up my mind to open Palms and Places Imagery, everything just felt right. I knew, despite missing my co-workers from the other company, that this was the best decision for me.

I have loved every step of this journey, to creating an amazing experience for my clients, to being in their lives for all the little moments they need captured. Everything has been so rewarding and I will continue to put my whole heart into the happiness of my clients and the creativity and quality behind their photographs.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Charleston-based wedding photographer, and I love capturing the love and happiness between two people, any people. Where I try to stand out, is in the style and attitude at which I approach a portrait session and wedding day. In one word; Balanced.

I try to, not only get the more traditional poses that will go on your wall and on greeting cards, but then I take some time to introduce some games and/or prompts, that will help show off people’s true personalities, their quirks, and their goofiness. We dance, we skip, we bear hug, we twirl, and more. The laughs, the emotions, and the ability to bring them out, is what I strive for in each session.

For a wedding day, I hold the same values. I try to capture the essence of the day and tell the love story of the bride and groom in a way that’s unique to them and their style.

What I have been told is my strength, by many brides, is the ability to project a calming presence amidst the hustle of a wedding day. I’ve been told that I knew exactly how and when to calm a person down and adjust my timeline to accommodate the emotions that were being experienced. I take pride in the fact that my clients are not only happy with their images, but they enjoyed their time with me.

I love what I do, and I’m glad that it shows not only in my work but how I present myself to my clients.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have had many supporters along the way! My family for one has of course always supported every decision I’ve made! I would also love to give one of my best friends, Shelby, a huge shoutout. She is my work best friend, turned actual best friend! We both opened our own wedding photography companies around the same time, and we love being each other’s cheerleaders and always go to each other for advice, opinions, new headshots, and much-needed beach days.
