Daily Inspiration: Meet Ashleigh Baker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashleigh Baker.

Ashleigh, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my business over five years ago after I was a bride myself. I loved planning my wedding and missed planning after my wedding. I had always been the planner among my family and friends, always volunteering to throw a party or shower to celebrate just about any occasion. But I found my niche in weddings. I bought the book “How to Start a Wedding Planning Business” on Amazon and did an incredible amount of online research in order to get started. From there, my business was born! I started out by myself but over the years have grown to a team of 4 and have an intern as well. We also offer floral design services now!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. There are booking highs and lows, some periods where growth didn’t seem plausible. There have been difficult clients or vendors I have worked with that at that moment made me question if this was the correct career path for me. The wedding industry is not for the faint of heart! At every wedding, there is an incredible amount of pressure to execute as perfectly as possible because it’s someone ‘best day ever and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. You are dealing with a big vendor team so there are many outside parties to guide and the weather is always a stressful factor.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are a wedding planning, coordination, and floral design boutique firm in the Charleston and surround areas. We offer day-of coordination, partial planning, full-service planning, and wedding floral design services. We accommodate a broad range of weddings from small elopements to large-scale events. No two events are the same and we strive to get to know each couple individually to help design their wedding to showcase their love and relationship. We believe what sets us apart is our dedication to our couples. We always have their best interest at heart and work hard to build their trust.

What’s next?
My ultimate goal is to own and manage my own dream wedding venue, I’m thinking grand oak trees for that Charleston charm, indoor and outdoor spaces, and all of the elements a successful venue requires for fully functional events. I will still probably plan and coordinate a few weddings a year because that is my passion 🙂

Pricing:

  • Coordination starting at $1,800
  • Planning packages starting at $2,500
  • Floral services start at $2,500
