Check Out Keri Snyder’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keri Snyder.

Hi Keri, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
About seven years ago, I attended an event for moms in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was the first time I left my 1-year-old daughter for an entire day. I was a mom of three and struggling to learn how to make time for myself. This event was life-changing. My friends and I left feeling filled up and refreshed.

After returning home, I messaged the coordinator of the event in Charlotte and asked if she would do one in Charleston. She said no but that I should do one. The idea started to swirl around in my mind, and the next thing I knew, I was planning an event for moms.

I called the event Bloom as I wanted moms to be encouraged to bloom in whatever season they are in.

As I was planning, I became friends with Melissa, and she offered to help me with the event. Little did she know what that offer would turn into.

The first event was held on a Friday evening at a local coffee shop. It was incredible to see how it all went so smoothly. We had friends help us with the various parts of the event, and everything just flowed. By the end, people were asking when the next event would be.

From that moment, we decided to turn Bloom into a yearly conference. Over the years, we have shifted to include all women, and the day is designed to give women space to be refreshed and refilled.

We host the event yearly in the spring. It is now an all-day event and includes speakers, vendors, food, and lots of little gifts. We love hosting this event and seeing it grow each year.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There were some struggles as we learned how to fund the event. However, we learned and are continually learning how to navigate this.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a local blogger who shares tips for moms to have an organized life. Hosting the conference has been a great creative outlet and a way for me to connect with others.

What was you like growing up?
I have always been an introvert, but growing up, I was very shy. I liked to be outdoors and to read.
