Hi Scott, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Natural Blonde Bloody Mary Mix was created by Charleston native John Aquino over a decade ago for the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, South Carolina. After almost 10 years of steady growth, in the spring of 2021, my family, a group of investors, and I met John. We thoroughly enjoyed his mix and saw the opportunity to help him grow the company. We purchased the company in the summer of 2021 and have exponentially grown the company in the past six months. We have hired Charleston locals and are assembling a team to build through an Omni sales channel. I moved to Charleston in September as Vice President and General Manager, and John remains a vital part of the company today as Vice President of Sales.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Scaling a company does not come without its challenges. We have battled supply chain issues, increasing costs for shipping, and other industry challenges. We have learned that we have to communicate as a team effectively on a consistent basis to grow rapidly and responsibly. We are always seeking improvement to communicate more effectively and learn from our wins and, more importantly, our losses.
We’ve been impressed with Natural Blonde Co., Inc., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our company is Natural Blonde Co., Inc., and we manufacture Natural Blonde Bloody Mary mix. Natural Blonde Bloody Mary Mix is a unique, light, and refreshing bloody Mary mix. Natural Blonde utilizes farm-fresh, yellow (Carolina gold and Valencia) tomatoes. The mix won the best-bottled product runner-up at The Bloody Mary Festival in Austin, Texas, in February 2022 and won a gold medal at the 2021 Drunken Tomato Awards.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Consumers are always seeking the best-tasting beverages made with high-quality, natural ingredients. This trend has been occurring in the food and beverage industry for a while, and our mix will be able to serve well in these markets. Many of our clients prefer to mix their liquors with high-quality mixers or just a great-tasting product.
