Rising Stars: Meet Angela Kinard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Kinard.

Hi Angela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2013 I started off as a family photographer and in 2019 I transitioned quickly into a full-time wedding photographer. Wedding Photography is my passion, but I occasionally still photograph families.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it’s been a road of growth and I’m so thankful for the negative & positive bumps I’ve experienced along the way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is more on the moody side and I LOVE capturing candids. I play games with my couples and families that capture laughter, intimacy, and fun. I also get those formal portraits that everyone loves. When you show up to one of my sessions, show up free spirited, ready to go on adventure with me.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Carolina Rain is not my actual name, but it’s based on a personal story. My husband and I were high school sweethearts and one afternoon we drove up to my grandparents field, laid on the hood of his car and talked for hours. We stayed there til dark, looking at the stars. Off in the distance we heard thunder, but didn’t think anything of it. Moments later a thunderstorm came and as we scrambled to get into the car we got soak & wet. We slammed the doors, looked at each other, & busted out laughing. At that moment I knew we were soulmates. I felt a connection I had never experienced before. Now we are happily married with 3 three girls. When I started to pursue photography and was trying to figure out a name to call it my own, that particular moment kept appearing in my mind. And I knew that I wanted my clients to feel that same feeling while they were having memories made and captured. Carolina Rain was the perfect way to represent my goals and passions for others.
