Conversations with Tierra Britton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Britton.

Hi Tierra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a participant in fitness performance. I studio-trained, from the age of 5 to 13, in tap, jazz, ballet, and pointe. I transitioned to school sports and became a cheerleader from age 14-18 and performed on my alma mater’s, dance team, The UNLV Scarlet Dancers. While finishing my Health Care Administration degree in Las Vegas, I volunteered as a youth cheer coach and found my knack for coaching and mentoring others about the benefits of working out and exercising. After my move to Raleigh, NC, I volunteered as an Assistant Varsity Cheer coach before joining the Army. After a year of advanced Army training and a tour in South Korea, I was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina’s Army Basic Combat Training. There, I specialized in transforming physically unfit and nutritionally underachieving Civilians into exceptionally, physically fit athletes. To further my expertise, I studied through the International Sports Sciences Association and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. I currently personal train in-person and virtually with a specialty in waist shrinkage and “butt growth”. I have my own brand of fitness gear and products that I’ve researched and tested myself for body transformations.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Because the fitness world is ever-changing, you have to be up-to-date with the newest and most popular diet and exercise trends. My belief that one style DOES NOT FIT all is make clear to my clients and anyone who seeks my fitness guidance. I’ve had other self-proclaimed “fitness gurus” discredit my style of workouts and training plan results, because they, themselves have not been able to achieve such results and /or they want THEIR faddish diet or fitness plan to be the superior path to anybody or health goal. I just want my clients and followers to know that a “one-for-all” diet or training plan DOES NOT exist.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Active-Duty Soldier with a fitness brand that encourages new fitness-goers to be confident and committed to their fitness journey. During the early mornings through the end of evenings, I’m training newly entered Civilians into basic combat-ready Soldiers. I train over 200 Soldiers over a 10week period before receiving another 200 Soldiers just 2weeks after the last batch graduates. Because most of the Trainees enter Basic Combat Training (BCT) with little physical fitness, it’s my job to ensure that while I have them for the 10weeks, I train and build them up into well-bodied, physically fit, Soldiers. I’ve taken this skill and formulated it into my fitness brand. I can take ANY body shape, fitness standing, or mentally unmotivated person and coach them through to their fitness or body goal. I pride myself with being able to work with all types of people, so I can be as soft-toned and encouraging as you need me to be or aggressive and pushy; whichever gets the job done.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m a creative person, so any app that allows me to express myself creatively is my go-to. Of course, that includes apps like Tik Tok and Instagram, but I also like Insight to get me create engaging content. I use the Calm app during times where my mind has so many ideas, and I want to do so much all at once, but I can’t.
