Meet Andrea Lovegrove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Lovegrove.

Hi Andrea, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I moved to Charleston 9 years ago to finish culinary and business school, my passion was always making events and weddings and my plan was always to go back to Mexico and open a wedding venue or catering company.

But on my first year in Charleston, I meet my wonderful husband, we married after I finish school and we had beautiful babies right away, so I put a pause to one of my dreams and gave priority to being a mom and helping to outgrow my husband business, then life gave me a chance to make my dream come true.

It was not easy everything from finding the right place, then I needed to change a text amendment on a historical district, just to be able to start everything the road it’s been harder than I ever thought, all our friends told us we were crazy and honestly, I think they were a little right but we still push through it, we moved and had our third baby.

Launch our business all in the same month all when my dad was hospitalized due to COVID, so we are just thankful of everything this would have not been possible without all our friends/family helping us, we feel pretty blessed, but it never comes whiteout fighting for it!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, everything from financial aspects to text amendments, rezoning, permits, etc. It’s not easy, then when you think you have everything in place you are in a totally new place in town so you need to start all over again to get your name out there as a business.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are an event and wedding venue in Charleston/Summerville area in South Carolina. We provide events with a background in history and luxury in the area, we are waterfront, we have deep water access and a boat ramp on site.

This Estate was part of the original colony when Charleston was founded and it was the largest farm in the region worked by the cook Family, they owned the place for 300 years and it was one of the strongest commercial points between Charleston and the fort Dorchester.

What matters most to you?
Our clients, because nothing makes us happier than a beautiful wedding making the couple’s dreams come true.
