Inspiring Conversations with Maggie Earley of Studio Seven

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Earley.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my cosmetology career at the Aveda Institute of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduating, I moved back in with my parents and worked at Great Clips to make fast, easy money. My plan was to save up and move somewhere warm! My best friend asked me if I wanted to move to Charleston, South Carolina with her, and without hesitation, I said yes. At the time, I didn’t have a car, I had never been to Charleston, and didn’t have a job lined up. I was up for the adventure and knew that the worst thing that could happen was I moved back home.

I instantly fell in love with Charleston. I started nannying and worked in a salon downtown. I met a woman who introduced me to a bridal hair and makeup company. I always wanted to do bridal hair and makeup full-time but didn’t think I could make a living for myself only working at weddings. Little did I know, Charleston is one of the top wedding destinations! I was with this company for five years. I made great friends and now have amazing connections in the wedding industry.

I also decided to open my own spray tanning company last year, Let’s Glow Girl. This year, I made the decision to leave the bridal company and open my own. I will continue to do bridal hair and makeup but in my own studio, Studio Seven. It has brought me so much joy making women feel beautiful in their own skin! I am obsessed with the cosmetology world! I’m so excited for all of the wonderful people I will meet while working with Studio Seven. It is a very exciting new adventure!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, career wise everything really fell into place for me. I was patient with finding a job in cosmetology that I really loved. Bridal hair and makeup has been a true dream come true!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Studio Seven, we offer eyelash extensions, facials, waxing, body scrubs, and spray tans. In addition to these spa services, we also offer hair and makeup services for special events! Our studio is available to rent. You can rent our bridal suite and hair/makeup area. We also have a room for boudoir photoshoots!

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is how our employees feel about working for Studio Seven. Since day one, that has been the most important thing to my business partner and me. We have both had to deal with rough situations with previous employers and never want our employees to go through what we went through.
