Daily Inspiration: Meet Brecken Sullivan (Hobbs) and Alisha Spangler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brecken Sullivan (Hobbs)and Alisha Spangler .

Brecken Sullivan (Hobbs) and Alisha Spangler

Hi Brecken and Alisha , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Breckеn Sullivan (Hobbs) and Alisha Spangler took very different paths that ultimately led to the same vision. Originally from Greenville, SC, Brecken moved to Nashville after college, where she launched her career and quickly distinguished herself in the business world, rising from Marketing Director to Head of Operations for three sister companies. While the experience sharpened her leadership and strategic instincts, a strong creative pull eventually drew her into the fast-paced world of music and commercial production. There, she became known for her ability to seamlessly blend storytelling, visual sensibility, and organizational precision.

Back in Greer, Alisha Spangler was building something of her own. As the founder and owner of Meraki & Co. Salon, she spent the past eight years cultivating a space centered on intentional beauty, genuine relationships, and elevated client care. A seasoned stylist and natural leader, Alisha shaped Meraki into a destination salon and spa where both guests and providers feel supported, welcomed, and inspired — a philosophy captured in the brand’s guiding belief that beauty is created with purpose.

The inspiration for The Wholistic Collective grew from a far more personal chapter. After struggling with chronic back pain and being diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, Brecken began searching for relief beyond conventional treatments. That journey introduced her to lymphatic drainage and holistic wellness—an experience that reshaped her perspective on health and healing. Living in Nashville at the time, she saw firsthand how accessible these modalities could be, yet recognized a noticeable gap in similar offerings back home in the Upstate of South Carolina. The idea for a new kind of wellness space began to take shape.

That vision aligned seamlessly with Alisha’s passion for creating environments that nurture both confidence and well-being. Together, the two expanded into the spa side of Meraki & Co., officially opening The Wholistic Collective in February 2026 — a collaboration rooted in shared values, complementary strengths, and a mutual commitment to helping people feel their best from the inside out.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As they say, with any business endeavor, there are bound to be hurdles and we’ve certainly had our fair share! We started this business while living six hours apart, which presented its own set of challenges from the very beginning. On top of that, we both maintain full-time careers, so time management and aligning our schedules often feels like a weekly puzzle, one we’ve now managed to solve (most of the time lol).

We’re continually learning as we go, but we feel incredibly fortunate to have each other to lean on throughout the process. Having that support makes the inevitable bumps in the road feel far less daunting!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At our boutique wellness studio, we offer therapeutic services that nurture the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance. We specialize in Electro Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) — a gentle, effective treatment that supports detoxification, reduces inflammation, and enhances overall vitality. Our mission is simple: to help you restore balance, renew energy, and reconnect with your body’s natural rhythm. At Wholistic Collective, modern wellness meets mindful care in a serene, results-driven environment. Whether you’re seeking recovery, renewal, or routine self-care, every session is thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs.

Electro Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) is a non-invasive, gentle treatment designed to support the healthy flow and natural drainage of the lymphatic system. This system works closely with the immune system to deliver oxygen-rich, nutrient-dense cells throughout the body, helping to combat inflammation and infections. However, the accumulation of toxins from diet and environmental exposure can overwhelm the lymphatic system, leading to blockages and, over time, contributing to various health issues, including cancer. This advanced therapy uses a specialized device, that combines multiple energetic modalities to effectively break down lymphatic congestion throughout the body, all without discomfort or downtime.

What sets us apart is our genuine passion for growth and continued learning within the holistic wellness space. While witnessing the positive impact this treatment has already had on our clients has been incredibly rewarding, we see it as only the beginning. We are deeply committed to ongoing research, education, and expanding our offerings to include additional services that support overall well-being. The opportunity to evolve, grow, and create meaningful impact for our community is what truly drives us and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If we had to point to one characteristic that’s been most important to our success, it would really be a mix of adaptability, resilience, and trust. Starting and growing a business comes with constant surprises, so being able to stay flexible and adjust as we go has been incredibly important. Just as much, resilience plays a huge role, showing up, staying committed, and working through challenges even when things feel uncertain.

Above all, trust has been the foundation of everything. Trust in each other, trust in our strengths, and trust in the process. Our partnership works because we communicate openly, support one another, and stay aligned in what we’re building. That makes even the tough moments feel manageable and the wins even more meaningful.
