Hi Candice, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m Candice Jones, a nurse practitioner and founder of Coastal Health and Hormone. I’ve been practicing for the past ten years, and early in my career I was introduced to hormone replacement therapy, and it opened my eyes to how many patients-especially women-were struggling with symptoms and often over looked or dismissed. I’ve spent the past decade continuing my education on hormones and that passion led me to start Coastal Health and Hormone. Today I help both men and women feel like themselves again using up to date evidence based medicine.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business definitely has its struggles. One of the biggest challenges was how to build a practice from the ground up- setting up telemedicine, attracting patients, and creating a model that works for people without insurance. It has definitely been a learning process, but it has helped me design Coastal health and hormone to be easily accessible, patient-focused, and affordable while providing high quality, individualized care.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a certified family medicine nurse practitioner and a menopause specialist. What sets me apart is my combination of clinical expertise, specialized hormone training, in a truly patient-centered approach. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all or expensive packages- everything is personalized to meet the patient’s needs. I’m most proud of helping people feel like themselves again- restoring energy, confidence, and overall health- and creating a practice that makes high quality hormone and weight loss care accessible, and affordable for anyone in the state of South Carolina.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that every patient’s weight loss or hormone journey is unique, and taking the time to understand their experience, concerns, and goals is what allows me to provide care that truly makes a difference in their lives.
