Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Branch
Hi Jay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I produced my first live event, a concert in downtown Jackson, Mississippi, over 27 years ago. Since then, I have put on over a thousand concerts and before eventually moving into the convention business, producing comic and anime events across the United States. Our company, VXV Events, brings in guests from around the world to areas that may not normally attract celebrities. We love to show famous people that cities in the South and Midwest can have well attended events and passionate pop culture fanbases. Our events include not only celebrity meet and greets but also feature gaming, fan groups, vendors, artists, panels, workshops, and so much more.
We are proud to bring Central Carolina Comic Con to the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia on January 11th and 12th. Columbia is an amazing city that has so much to offer, and we can’t wait to show the con world!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Live events have many moving parts, with large teams working different areas of the convention to make everything a success; the main priority is to bring our crew together for a common goal.
Our events also attract thousands upon thousands of people, so managing crowds, long lines, and other facets of the events can make for long days, but the joy we get to see when people meet celebrities or see someone in a cosplay they love is worth the struggle.

VXV Events produces comic and anime conventions across the South and Midwest. Our goal has always been to bring the comic con experience to cities that would not normally get to experience a large convention.
