Hidden Gems: Meet Reagan Kerr of Reagan Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reagan Kerr.

Reagan Kerr

Hi Reagan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My love for weddings began at an early age and was documented as young as eight years old when I drew a diagram of my wedding ceremony on the grand staircase of a property owned by my grandfather. I marked the placement of each bridesmaid and groomsman and indicated the processional and recessional flow. I was destined to become a wedding planner. From there, I lived for planning high school dances, was on the prom committee, and served as co-chair for my college’s annual $100k ball. I began shadowing my college’s event planner, helping with anything from alum weddings in the on-campus chapel to cocktail receptions at the president’s home. I pieced together multiple jobs as a server for restaurants and various caterers to learn food service. I also worked for an event rental company, submitting equipment orders and sometimes folding linens in the back. I gained invaluable tools from these jobs that gave me a well-rounded understanding of events. Every event planner must be a master “marionettist” of a major event.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been like many entrepreneurs: peaks and valleys. From living remotely as a marine wife to babies to divorce to multiple moves, to finding love again toss the pandemic in there where globally we were not allowed to perform our job as event planners, I feel like I’ve been through the wringer and have often been trying to keep my head above water – but miraculously my genuine passion for what I get to do every day continues to rise to the surface and has allowed me to lead with a calm determination despite the sometimes frantic paddling beneath the surface.
