Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Carver.
Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
This journey through life has not always been an easy one, but I am grateful for every bump in the road along the way as they have led me perfectly to where I am now. I am blessed that I get to take part in what I love every day as my career. I have loved crystals and spirituality since I was young.
My stepmom recently found a Dalmatian Jasper tumbled crystal that I gifted to her mother in the 90s with a little note attached. Certainly, there is some foreshadowing there! But, I veered off of the spiritual path for quite some time, as substance abuse dug its hooks into me.
In 2015, I took the necessary steps to get sober and re-align my mind, body, and spirit. All of the magic I found in crystals and in spirituality came rushing back into my life. As a metal-sensitive person, I loved the wire-wrapped crystal jewelry that I saw some of my friends making, but, sadly, couldn’t wear them.
In 2019, I began to teach myself how to wrap crystals using cording via the micro macrame art form. In 2020, friends started asking if I could make them jewelry, and doors began to open for me. Soon, my jewelry customers began asking if I knew where to source genuine crystals for their homes as well, and expansion happened.
In 2021, I was able to quit my waitress job and devote all of my time to crystals and crystal jewelry. I am incredibly grateful for everyone who supports me and my dreams. I get to bring the beautiful energy of crystal healing to people daily and my life today is such a stark contrast to what it looked like 10 years ago, and most of that is due to following my dreams and having people who believed in me cheering me on.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Certainly, it has not been a smooth road, but I don’t know many who could answer yes to that question. Aside from overcoming substance abuse, domestic abuse, and self-harm, some of my biggest struggles have come through mental health struggles. Owning your own business means having to overcome imposter syndrome.
When I think I am not enough, I do it anyway, do it scared. The only way to know is to try! Although I ship all over the United States, my biggest supporters are my local grand-strand community. Building this community has not always been easy though, due to social anxiety. But, I have learned that we all have something that we are working to overcome, and to not let that define who you are and what you can do!

Twisted Goddess Crystals provides consciously sourced crystals from all over the world, handmade crystal macrame jewelry, and handmade crystal mala necklaces. I love the metaphysical side of crystals, but I also love the geology side of crystals, sometimes even mining crystals myself!
Due to this love of both aspects of crystals, Twisted Goddess Crystals provides not only quality products but educational content surrounding crystal healing and spotting genuine vs fake crystals to support educated buyers. Conscious sourcing is important to me. Ethical sourcing is something that can vary by someone’s definition, so I like to use the term conscious sourcing instead.
Part of my conscious sourcing practice is through having crystals carved or polished in the same place that they were mined in. This keeps the funds going to the people who have done the hard work! Brand-wise, I am most proud that although there are many people who sell crystals and make macrame jewelry, people often can spot my work out of a crowd and tell that it was something that I made, even from afar.
That is so special to hear. I have heard stories from someone who was stopped at a grocery store by a stranger because they recognized that they were wearing a piece of crystal jewelry from Twisted Goddess Crystals. Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned along my journey is to trust yourself and follow your joy!
Sometimes, we can overcomplicate the question of ‘what is my life purpose?’ Your life purpose is the same as mine, although it may be lived out in a different way. Our life purpose is JOY! To find joy, to create joy, to share joy, to live joyfully. Follow what brings you true joy (not fleeting happiness) and you won’t ever steer off course!
