Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Clark.
Hi Justin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I am originally from Mobile, AL. In 2022, I moved to Anderson, SC from Atlanta, GA. In January 2023, I lost my job, and for months I lived in a state of great uncertainty. I grew up in the church, but I had not attended church since moving from Atlanta. My whole world changed on May 12, 2023. It was Mother’s Day, and I had no job; hence I used the holiday as a reason to attend church with my mother, as a ply to spend time with her as well as to get out of the house.
That was the day I was exposed to Redemption East in Greenville, SC under the leadership of Pastor Ron Carpenter Jr. He was in a sermon series entitled “The Necessity of an Enemy”, and the sermon overwhelmed my spirit, so the next Sunday I decided to Join. I already joined with the notion that I would be serving in the church; After attending Growth Track (new membership orientation) I decided to Join the Growth Track team as well as Redemption Youth (middle school to high school).
During praise and worship, the youth department stood up front, and other members began to take notice of my praise to God. They began to tell me how inspiring my praise was, and it showed me how my light could shine before men [Matthew 5:16]. Over the months I’ve been exposed to various conferences and services, and it opened my eyes to the option of ministry.
I even had the privilege to be part of the team that started Greenville Young Adults, our ministry for young adults ages 20-35, under the leadership of Youth Pastor Tommy Wafford; this catapulted me into wanting to be a minister even further. [Instagram: @greenvilleya] After our first Young Adults night, my comrades whom I served with and I were discussing how we could further our ministry, and they encouraged me to embark on content creation. That is how the story of “Clark Park” began.
I started a TikTok page [@clarkpark_prod] and I used my platform for various things such as sharing my testimony, bible verses of the day, and daily motivation; slowly my platform has been growing. I decided that from now on, I wanted to use my social media to Glorify God instead of myself, and I saw how my videos inspired others. My goal is to teach others what I have been learning through my walk with God, to grow up with me, and to grow in Christ. These are my 6 focuses in my walk with God:
1.) Spiritual Growth/ Spiritual Warfare
2.) Fatherhood
3.) Manhood
4.) Fitness
5.) Knowledge/Wisdom
6.) Sobriety
I simply aim to use my platform to inspire and educate other young adults and lead them to the Kingdom of God. One man can’t change the world, but he can inspire the next generation of Christians that can help to edify the Kingdom and possibly change the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Growing in Christ is a tedious process depending on the situation of each individual. I believe that before you begin to renovate your life you must begin with repair. This includes facing old trauma, letting things go from your life, unlearning old, unhealthy habits, and gaining healthy habits. It also includes praise, prayer, and counsel.
This means studying your Bible often, fellowshipping with other Christians, servitude, and fully surrendering to God. You don’t get clean to take a bath; you take a bath to get clean. However, you have to want Spiritual growth for yourself and die in the flesh daily to be born of the Spirit.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m here to be a vessel of God; to be used to evangelize to the unchurched and returning Christians. What sets me apart is- nothing. We all can receive the Savior!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
Church Lock-ins. Working with the youth department reminds me of the anxieties I felt as a youth, and reminds me how being in the church kept me afloat. That’s why the youth inspire me and motivate me to be a better leader for them.
